WHy did Batua Start?

I know it has been asked before but I am sometimes a bit slow....but what in the world was the thinking of starting the 3rd string QB, who did not play as badly as stats look, and not changing anything at all offensively?
Richt has an abysmal record with coordinators and assistant coaches but it is undeniable that Schottenheimer is by far the worst of the lot.
As bad as Richt was at playcalling he should relieve Schitty of that role today.
And while we are on the subject how does a 4 star QB recruit turn into your punter? This ain't 1940 for fricks sake but we have seen this before when a highly touted QB prospect was shagging punts.
Our program has gone from mediocre to fricking bizarre....the feeling to me is eerily similar to the whole Jim Donnan / Quincy Carter debacle....juts some strange shite going on.....

Maybe not that bad...the program is simply in a general disarray that has been masked to most until very recently. The emperor has no clothes, and finally one of the children braved the crowds and pointed it out.
The Donnan/Quincy affair was a complete dumpster fire, and a god damn shame. I can still smell the cocaine in the air.

Why did Bauta not find out until Thursday? That's what I don't understand.
How can the guy be mentally prepared to start such a big game with one day. It's mindboggling.

Seems like desperation to me. If a player isn't very good, the solution isn't to replace him for someone worse.

You are probably right....nit quite Q and Donnan.....but something just ain't right. Richt ahs been totally disconnected for about 5 years now...somebody wrote here recently since his wife was sick and that is about right.....but this is more than disconnected...how does a 4star QB turn into a punter? How does a 3 star QB recruit and third string QB get the start in a game that decides the SEC east and there is onlyone change to the same old tired game plan ,the first play of the game, and after it is canceled out by a penalty we never do it again.
There was also the holding call on 2 and 24 that we decline??? WTF???
Just bizarre.....

Agreed...but you know going in that Batua is not a pocket passer and noting at all changes other than the name on the QB's jersey.
Is it possible that Lambert is somehow not eligible or guilty of some sort of undisclosed violation of team policy (sucking at your job is OK at UGA)? W\
When I heard that Batua was named the starter I first asked why it was being disclosed and then though that maybe with the BYE week we might try some new shite. But we did the same shite with the same results except we were playing a VERY good UF defense who are ball hawks.

I agreed with starting Bauta but he should've been pulled for Lambert at half time.
