I'd argue he wasn't exactly in the best situation when he was hired by PSU given all that was going on. It'd be fun to see what he'd do with the TEs.

We all know Richt is here for the long run. Whether that's good or bad, it is what it is.

By collegiate coaching standards, he's already been here for a double-marathon. He's probably not that much longer for the job ("not long" being a few more years, as opposed to months), though retirement is more likely than firing.

He came into PSU when the paterno shite was going on, but he still had to recruit and coach like anyone else. And they sucked. Ok so let's give him a pass there...he's an NFl coach now which is pretty stout yeah? Went 9-7 his first year and is currently 1-3. He is 10-10 in the NFL as a head coach. Shitty arse joe philbin who coaches the team I cheer for is 24-28...would you want joe philbin as our coach? Becausue he's only a slight percentage point worse than BOB is as a coach.

We're UGA...we should set our sights higher than fricking bill o'brien.

One my friends bet me that if UGA loses to UF & UTK, Richt will be gone. Seems like the easiest money to ever be made in the history of the planet, so I took the wager.

easy money. I think the fact that Eason is coming next year to play for him and waiting to see the returns on the changes over the past year have bought him a while with the admin. Just a guess. Also won't hurt that, barring disaster (which we are certainly capable of), he will take the series lead vs UT and Auburn this year and will have that to point out.

If we come out vs UF and put the game on Lambert's (or god forbid Ramsey's) shoulders again, that's gonna be a bad one.

If we find a way to lose to UT though, that would start an awful downward spiral. Last night seemed to finally break them, Butch is getting some pressure.

Our next head coach hasn't even been conceived. His future parents might not have even hit puberty yet..

Seems like the odds for a no-decision are pretty stellar. UF loss seems possible, but UK loss seems pretty unlikely.

He convinced the #1 QB recruit in America to go play there even though they would be ineligible for a bowl for all four of his years of eligibility (later reduced to 2 year bowl ban). He turned Matt McGloin from the worst QB at a BCS program into a backup NFL QB. Penn State got hit with an absurd amount of transfers (because of the Paterno/Sandusky stuff) to the point where they had a linebacker returning kicks. He managed to have two winning seasons anyways. They got slammed with some of the worst recruiting sanctions in NCAA history after that scandal. So no, he couldn't recruit like everyone else

You're usually an intelligent poster on this site. You can't possibly be this dumb to not notice how he did a hell of a coaching job at PSU, right?

They had the talent of a 3-9 team both years he was there.

Also, 9-7 in his first season at Houston with their dumpster fire of a QB situation isn't too bad.

Again, I'm not one calling for Mark Richt to be fired, but after being a fan for 15 years, I'm done supporting or expecting anything significant from him. Some how I have been able to get past the embarrassing losses, but this was the last one.

As I said before, he got a raise last year and we didn't beat anybody good but a Clemson team that didn't start Watson. We lost to every quality team we played other than maybe Mizzou. Last years 10-3 might as well have been 8-5. That being said I hope we can beat Tennessee this weekend, but if we don't, we are looking at a trip to the gator bowl at best. I would be ok with a gator bowl trip with a roster like Mizzou's or Kentucky's, but not with ours.

It would take 5-7 to fire him, but thats not highly likely. I think he would survive 6-6.
