There's never been a better play by play man. I grew up listening to Munson throughout my life courtesy of my dad. My love for the Dawgs grew from there.

my favorite call was by far the '97 Tech game.

when he died, it felt like a little piece of Georgia football died with him. At least, a piece of my heart.

Back in the day when only a couple of games a year were televised, Munson WAS the ONLY way to get a game and he never failed to deliver. I agree, a piece of UGA died with Larry.

'92, correct. just remember that great call by Munson. He gave the credit to 'ol ladyluck though

1996 was the one when Bobo hit Corey Allen on the Hail Mary to send the game to overtime, which we won in 4OT. TDSOR has produced some unreal games and moments, but that was the best game in series history, IMO.

Michael Johnson in the corner on 4th down to beat the Barn in 02 and clinch the east was pretty damn lucky. Heck of a play, but Greene just tossed that ball up there.

That season was full of late in the game clutch football. Incredible year.

The 96 Auburn game was one of the best football games we have ever been in and won. We had it lost what seemed like a dozen times that day.

While this is true, he tossed it to the biggest WR on the field matched up with a 5'9 corner.

1 on 1 in the corner with a 6'3 WR is good strategy more than good luck.

I guess I'm thinking more about the magnitude of the play and the moment. If that doesn't happen, we don't win the east, SEC, and the Sugar Bowl. Probably end up in the Outback.

No, it's obviously not a Prayer at Jordan Hare type lucky play, but still extremely fortunate the way it worked out.

Yes, of course it's good strategy. That doesn't mean it's not lucky.

And even when the games were televised, we turned down the TV & turned on Larry. "Lauren what ya got?"

Would you consider the Pollock in the endzone against USCe, lucky?

Immediately came to mind. That play/game could have ended in a few different ways. The way it ended was "fortunate".

That was '13, but I'm not exactly sure if I'd call that lucky.

That was lucky as hell

Correct. Which has nothing to do with luck.

What is your logic here? If Greene to Johnson was on our first drive of the game nobody wkuld bat an eye. The word luck would never come into play at any tkme. If the 13 au play happened on the first drive it would still be 100% pure dumb luck.

You're confusing luck with the timing of the game.

No coincidence that Larry dies and with him goes stroke dawg and the block font. UGA athletics changed with his passing. Still trying to figure out if things will ever be as good as they were with him behind the mic.

I feel like some of y'all are letting situations influence if something was luck or not.

Remove everything else about the play. The time left in the game, what quarter, the opponent, the stakes, the down, etc. None of that shite matters. Greene to Johnson was a 19 yard pass to our biggest receiver over a cornerback. In no way was that luck.

As for the '13 UT play in question...you (V&S et al) are calling it luck because it was in overtime and gave us the ball and the eventual win. If UT received the opening kickoff and drove to the 40 in a few plays, and on 2nd down (we're like 2 minutes into the game mind you) around midfield he was diving for the first down stick and the ball came out, would you really consider that one of the luckiest plays in UGA history? I am 100% certain you would not. So you're basically admitting that other factors besides the ACTUAL play itself are getting in the way.

Hell, remove the teams too and just pretend it's 2 teams on a video game. The '13 AU play would still be 100% luck. The pollack 02 SC play would still be lucky. 02 auburn, 13 ut, and others would absolutely in no way make the cut.

There was the 05 Outback Bowl against Wisconsin where the ball was tipped in the air and right into the hands of our FB Jeremy Thomas who scored.

That's the only play I can think of that was complete luck, but it wasn't dramatic like the Auburn or Bluegrass miracle.

The tipped ball TD to Randy McMichael in the 2000 Outback Bowl along with Purdue's kicker having a complete meltdown in game was lucky.

Are you saying any 4th and long completion is luck? It's a play we practiced and we went where the coverage dictated.

1965 the flea flicker play. Ga is lucky there wasn't instant replay in those days or the receiver would probably have been called down and UGA would've lost to Bama rather than upsetting them.
