That was a GREAT play by Pollack.

It WAS a great play. And, it was ruled an interception! (I didn't remember that) It was a matter of everything just falling into place at the right time.

Pig Howard fumble through the endzone was pretty damn fortunate for us. That's the most recent that I can recall.

The kickoff that Notre Dame didn't field in the 81 Sugar Bowl (followed by Herschel punching in a TD).

Our program began with bad luck. We're playing first game ever against auburn in Atlanta and some good luck war bird swoops in and makes auburn win. Ain't that some shite.

It's seems like we come up on the short end of the "luck" stick more than we do the long end. Or that may just be the pessimist in me.

I think Larry Munson single handedly created 3 generations of pessimistic dawg fans.

As a long time Dawgs fan I agree with some of the other posters. When I see luck and UGA football mentioned in the same sentence I almost automatically equate it with BAD luck. For example the prayer at Jordan-Hare or the 2012(?) SEC championship v. Bama. I hope that that turns around now. As another poster said- we're DUE.

No bad luck here. Defense end made an amazing play jumping like 10 feet into the air. Conley did what any receiver would naturally do.

Having no timeouts and clock running out has nothing to do with luck

That's true. Just disappointing as a fan. But you're right it just felt like bad luck. I couldn't believe it.

i gotta go with the Auburn game (i think it was '96) when they were at the goal line about to punch it in with like 30 seconds left in the game to take the lead. Their players couldn't get up and set on the next formation before the time ran out and Munson was like, "ladyluck saved us..." :)

A tipped ball can go anywhere though.

For any other team, it hits ground, clock stops, and they get one more play, or maybe it even gets intercepted instead.

Only Georgia can end it that way.

Falcons could probably do it.

I think it was '92. And our defense may or may not have made our own luck on that one..... taking our time to come out of the pile while Goff yelled at them to stay down from the sideline.

Yep, that was wisdom by the defense to win that game. It ended very similarly to 2001 UGA/Auburn but with Auburn making the goal line stand.

The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry is an amazing series.

I may or may not of gotten choked up just now listening to that. I'm still swole though.

UF '80 doesn't count either, that was simply an easy 20 yard pass and our guy outran theirs.

Nope, their safety lost his footing and completely took himself out of the play.

We had some breaks in the '80 season.George Rogers fumble as they were driving for the winning TD.Kickoff to ND that bounces straight up in the air and we recover and get an easy TD.

UT 2001.If we tackle Travis Stephens on the screen pass right before he goes into the endzone (we almost did)
there is no way we get the ball back and score.UT at the minimum would have hit a FG or probably get a TD and victory.
