Overall he looked slow and hesistant although he had flashes.

IMO he did not want to damage the already very slim shot he has at the NFL.

He looked pretty good for most of his carries. Wasn't diving forward on every play like he used to do but I'm guessing he was just banged up.

IDK but watching Douglass carry the ball in critical situations ahead of KM was frustrating to say the least.

As far as his NFL prospects... Which is worse? Risking injury or not getting playing time and appearing to be 4th on the depth chart?

He needed to show he could run the ball to increase his stock. It was because he was dinged.

I sort of wondered if he wasn't in the doghouse with Schotty. He really hasn't shown us anything consistently in a couple of seasons so it doesn't make sense to sit out for his NFL dreams. Will he even get drafted?

Based on his post injury performance, I think he will get a free agent try out. He could latch on with his speed and special teams play. Still, he makes more money if he has more carries that look good and make him appear to be over his injury. It looks that way the first 5 games or so til he got dinged.

An eager player asks for playing time or in the least lets his coach know that he is ready to go whenever needed. I doubt if Marshall expressed a desire to be the workhorse replacement for Chubb.

Honestly the state of injuries on Richt's teams were down right uncanny. We've had some outstanding skill players over the years but way too often they weren't on the field for various reasons. UGA might do well to hire a coach that teaches our players how to fall/go down in ways that avoid injuries. I had a judo class in college and that was one of the first things we were taught. But unfortunately in Marshall's case, he was set up for the kill by an ill-advised pass by Murray while the Tennessee defender was quickly closing in for the kill. Quarterbacks should be taught to not put their receivers in uncompromising positions.

Marshall has great speed but his vision and especially his balance need work. He leans to far forward when he runs, needs to stay behind his feet and learn how to be shifty.

The above (along with excessive turnovers and poor performance against good teams) is why I value Aaron Murray much less then other Dawg fans do. Aaron didn't even seem all that broken up about severely damaging Marshall's career.

How do you know that Murray didn't care about it, and what could he really have done?

It's easy to look back after and say Murray is at fault, but until you are in that situation with the speed of the game you can't blame him.

Murray was facing pressure and had to get rid of the ball, Marshall was open in the flats so Murray's instincts told him to dump it off. Do you people really think AM had time to sit there and contemplate whether he should throw it or not? You have to make split second decisions in football.

This is fricking stupid. Yes, the play was a misread by Murray because he didn't expect the corner to go all out after Marshall, but to say he didn't care is retarded. What was he supposed to do, sulk during the middle of a game? That was early in the first quarter of a tight football game. Injuries suck, but they are part of football.

Yes, we know you think Mason was better than Murray even though Mason could never put the team on his back for four quarters and win a game like Murray did on multiple occasions. Take Mason's top 2 RBs and top 3 WRs out of a game, give him the ball on the road down by a TD with less than 2 min left and ask him to drive downfield and tie the game. I don't think that would end well.

If you pass the ball 40 times a game and don't throw a pick and have a few plays where the player catching the ball doesn't get mugged, you are the elite of the elite in QBs of all time ever. You have split seconds to know the coverage and reads and are doing so against people who don't want you to score and are pretty good at it.

His injury was just a freak accident on a shitty field against a tackler who went for th legs.

^^^This- it was a bush league tackle. Every fricking person who's played even a year of football at any age knows that was a complete bich move on the corner.
