Kid could finally put it all together after being in college football forever... What if he's got stats like what he did against SC last year...and he's led UGA to wins over NC, MO etc. this year...

Might throw a kink into things. Do bench a 5th year senior if he's winning games and go with a true freshman? Or does Eason basically become a mop up only guy?

Not saying it will happen...but stranger things have happened in college football.

What if dolphins could fly? How cool would it be to see a dolphin leap out of the water but, instead of nose diving back in, he started flapping his fins and snatched a sea gull right out of the air?! Man, that would be awesome!

He saw a lot of action before arriving at UGA.

I think if he hasn't reached his ceiling, he's pretty damn close to it.

Unless Eason starts throwing picks like an ice climber, I don't see Lambert throwing the football.

Bench? No. If Lambert somehow, miraculously plays lights out football, Eason still gets reps to get him some experience.

Not going to happen, though.

I gather I'm in the distinct minority but I think you're spot on. Stranger things have happened than a fifth year senior QB improving from the year before especially with lots of new pieces to the puzzle being brought to the table.

And no, assuming Lambert is playing well and the offense is being productive I don't see him being benched or taken out of the game whatever the motivation may be to bring another player in. That may have happened before but if so I'd think it would have occurred infrequently. Why would any coach want to tinker with what is working? Now if it isn't working, then that's another story.

If he does, good for him. And good for us. I don't see the downside to any one of the three QBs improving to the point of winning the job for the whole season.

Well, the first part won't happen so the second is not very likely to.

yea, Scout.com says he was told he was going to start and play the entire game yesterday...BUT

for some strange reason today, Lambert took first string snaps first today...

Kirby said Eason's name first during the presser today...

Lambert started the last game for UGA and the spring game...

Chizik planning for all 3 to start, in a shotgun formation with all 3 back.

3 QBs, 2TEs, 5 OL and Chubb? I'll take it!

I've heard that Chaney likes to pass the football. From a defensive background you'd think that CKS would want to run the ball and keep D fresh. Should be interesting to see how they mesh.
Am I right in thinking there's more depth on our Oline than D line?

If he does we will have a hell of a season so why not. Possible, not probable.

Also, it would have to be a miracle for Lambert to show out like a stud after not being able to separate himself against a true frosh and a punter all spring and summer.

Lucius, you could care less if Lambert should start all season long. Stop starting threads you think will glorify you.

Dunno... This may be the first season Lambert played with a solid Oline and a competent Offensive coaching staff...if that were to happen, it would be great.. Not because I like him, but it would mean we were in good shape...

Eason gets a year to learn the system and grow stronger. No real problems there.

The more I think about it there really is no advantage to starting Eason. You start Lambert and everyone expects you to rotate Eason to get him reps. If he does something stupid you have Lambert coming in next - no big deal. He doesn't expect to get every snap. If he owns it then you keep him in and let him grow.

You start Eason and the expectation is that he's your guy. If he stinks it up and you have to bring in Lambert it's much more of psychological blow to Eason to be benched in his first game. Also the hole may be too big to climb out of if he's struggling and throwing pics.

I've reached my happy place. Start Lambert.
