Right on time, the bees are buzzing and the birds are chirping. The clocks are about to spring forward, and the invisible airwaves crackle with life, bright antennae bristle with the energy.....

But we aren't starting off with Rush... that's too easy...

Let's settle this once and for all...

What is the best version of Scarlet Begonias?

It's a great spring time song.

The original by Grateful Dead?

Grateful Dead original Scarlet Begonias

The cover by Sublime?

SUblime version of Scarlet Begonias

Lyrics:

quote:

As I was walkin' down Grosvenor Square, Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air, From the other direction she was calling my eye, Could be an illusion but I might as well try, might as well try. She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes, And I knew without askin' she was into the blues. She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls, I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls. In the heat of the evening when the dealin' got rough, She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff. As I picked up my matches and was closin' the door, I had one of those flashes, I'd been there before, been there before. Well I ain't often right but I've never been wrong, Seldom turns out the way it does in the song. Once in a while you get shown the light In the strangest of places if you look at it right. Well there ain't nothin' wrong with the way she moves, All scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues. And there's nothing wrong with the look that's in her eyes I had to learn the hard way to let her pass by, let her pass by. The wind in the willow's playing "Tea for Two, " The sky was yellow and the sun was blue, Strangers stopping strangers just to shake their hand, Everybody's playing in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band.

I like your closer for credit roll, I think the Bela song above would be a perfect intro.

I like the first part of it. But the dave Mathews band horn part 45 seconds in would ruin us.

Okay I really liked that. The melody reminded me of modern version of Shenandoah.

Any albums you could recommend for the Spotify playlist with similar music.

Educate me.

You don't want to hear this, but if we're going to get rich as shite on a pinestraw movie we need GAFLline to be involved in the soundtrack.

I'm not going to ask you to make a decision on that yet, but just let it marinate.

RICH AS shite - that's the goal

Can we give them bit parts? Murder victims, but it's not Lester/JD doing the murdering this time, it's another pine straw gangster played by Col Bruce, who kills the members of Ga FL line. They can even get murdered with one of their own songs playing on the truck radio.

Good call. Also, COl Bruce might be perfect for the narrator roll. Kind of like how Waylon Jennings was the story narrator on the Dukes of Hazzard, but you never saw him.

Or maybe we see the narrator once in the ending scene and he's just an old guy selling bales on the side of the road telling some other dude the story. And it turns out the whole movie was just this story he was telling this guy. And the guy (played by Kirby Smart) just wants to pay for his bales and leave in his red and black F150 but he's stuck listening to this crazy story and thinks its probably just some kind of tall tale.

Squatch, If you're subscribed to Spotify, the single best thing about it and for finding new music is the radio feature. If you like the song deeprig posted, just go to the radio feature on Spotify and type in "Bela Fleck". It'll somehow bring up an endless list of songs similar to that one by all kinds of different artists....and then you can sift through those finding the ones you like and saving them. And then you can start new radio stations off these new songs you just discovered and it'll bring up a whole nother gold mine of songs to sift through. It's a game changer.

^this. The 'Discover Weekly' playlist that it creates for you based on the songs/albums you've saved is also awesome because it spans different genres, etc.
