A Georgia fan asked via Twitter "What other coaches in college football would let Jameis play right now?" They all said with no doubt it would be all of them.

Guess they havent been following CMR's career.

Lol at them if they think all of the other coaches would put up with this BS. It's like damn clockwork him being in trouble. Most of it isn't substantial but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Winston would be at Auburn by now if he started out at Georgia.

Most coaches would move on by now, Winston has become a major distraction for the team. FSU can't even rely on their quarterback and supposed team leader to be in the starting lineup week-to-week. You never know when he is going to frick up again.

Lets not forget that Jameis is a Heisman trophy winner who has led his team to a natty. That would earn him a lot of leeway with a lot of coaches and programs. At this point Florida State needs him more than he needs Florida State.

Are any memorabelia dealers claiming that they paid jamies for his autographs?

No. Not that we know of.

There's a big difference between Jameis's autograph situation and Gurley's.

Why is this difficult for people to understand?

I paid Jameis Winston $500 for an autograph.

Edit: Now there is no difference.

Im guessing this is the first you've heard of this Jameis kid.

Disagree completely.

He's only a sophmore and look at the damage he's already done to their brand.

Also, notice how it was the administration and not Jimbo that bumped the Clemson game suspension from half a game to a full game at midnight on Friday before the game.

At some point, enough is enough. Even for Florida State.

Nobody in this thread has drawn the comparison between Jameis and Gurley. Jameis has a lot more going on than autographs.

You know....like shoplifting....rape....screaming vulgar obscenities on campus...

MR would not have that player playing on Saturdays.

You must not have read the OP then.

Bottom Line: Gurley isn't suspended for there being a bunch of sequential autographs. He's suspended because there's someone claiming he paid Gurley for autographs.

Jameis does not have anyone claiming this.

Disclaimer for slow-people: I am fully aware that both players were paid for all these autographs.

I guess I should have been more clear. They were talking about Jameis in general. Not just the autographs.

Actually I did, and nowhere did it mention Gurley.

One big difference between Todd Gurley and Jameis Winston is that Gurley has done nothing that could possibly hurt his NFL draft stock.

Gurley is a blue chip stock trending upwards. Winston's value is melting rapidly and he has already thrown away millions.

Obviously, when it comes to being an idiot, Jameis is the real deal.

Winston has been tireless when it comes to signing autographs, as these photographs from the ACC Baseball Tournament suggest. Winston’s autograph line extended into the walkway above the first section, with many fans bringing multiple items to be signed.

I wanted to vomit. He signed all that stuff for the kids at baseball games then somebody accumulated hundreds of those identical items and submitted them to JSA at the same time.

It's always odd when someone has to have a lot of circuitous explanations for several situations they've been in. Usually raises a red flag. And even weirder when it's other people stumbling over themselves to make excuses for every little thing.

One situation in and of itself might be plausible, but several at once/in a short period of time..yea....

I don't think I've talked to a single UGA fan that doesn't think Gurley got paid for his autographs. Thankfully it was less than $400....unless there's hard evidence otherwise...

Actually, he is not suspended because someone is claiming thy paid him for autographs. That in and of itself would not be enough. Somebody is always claiming stuff....there has to be something to indicate there is fire to go along with all the smoke. That is why I suspect Gurley admitted it to Richt...or somebody.

And somebody is claiming that Winston signed for money. His name has come to the forefront for a reason. But he is used to trouble. He has learned to stay quiet and not admit to anything.

Of course they got paid, they all got paid.

My autograph ain't worth crap and I wouldn't sign 100 of something for no damn reason. Let's be real.

The old solution used to be that you paid a friend of the player. Athlete money laundering if you will.

As noted earlier, him signing at all with knowledge it was memorabilia dealer makes him ineligible, whether paid or not.
