With UGA football? Stop funding it....don't contribute, dont buy merchandise, dont attend games. We are facilitators of the medicority that is UGA football. Is losing a couple of games a year that we should win worth refusing to buy the product any longer? Not for me....I will continue to do what I do to buy the shite they are selling....but if we didn't do that there would be a higher demand for better outcome and I think Mark Richt and company could deliver....there just is not any real demand by consumers of the product to make it any better.

Of course our admins would counter that we need to contribute more if we want the extra effort/things it takes to win a NC.

Youth football is too dammed expensive and too dammed demanding. Youth soccer is co-ed, costs nearly nothing, requires 4 hours a week instead of 10 - 12 and is the sport of choice in 90% of the world. It is inevitable. Not going to happen in 1 or 2 generations but in 5??? I wouldnt be surprised at all....the only thing that may save Football over Soccer is the same thing that has destroyed CFB...TV Money....soccer sucks on TV....not enough time for advertising. Solve that and Football finds itself in the same situation as Hockey....

I agree, the NFL doesn't give one rip about fan opinion because the real money comes from the suite buyers and TV/marketing contributors.

Win or lose UGA is a big time marketable venue for the networks and money rolls in for the BOR's pet projects along with all this SEC tribute.

I think the day of the fan and smaller booster input has passed, probably did the day the SECCG was created.

Lacrosse is the new soccer and taking kids by storm.

Carrollton High School has a BASS fishing team now Hell, they were in a tournament in Eaufala this weekend. One of my best friends kids is on the team and he's up for a college scholarship to where UGA...

I used to cut first period to fish in the spring, now it's a sanctioned team sport.

FIFY

We could copy all of these hreads and first game we lose in 2015 we will see the exact same threads pop up. VERY tiring. A single loss send Georgia fans into a tailspin faster than anything. Thank goodness we wil probably never go udefeated. Some people on here wouldn't have a clue what to do.

I think some guys on the board copy their posts into a folder on their computer and name it "Open in case of loss".

World Cup,Champions League, and GOOD EPL matchups are pretty exciting. I catch 'em from time to time especially EPL after NCAA football season. Soccer is on the rise in this country though. They had a sellout at the GA Dome to watch Mexico play Nigeria in a Pre WC Friendly back in Feb or March.

But back to the thread.....who has access to a Cessna we can borrow for the AU game? Anybody know where we get a large banner with Fire Mark Richt in red?

Been that way since the 70s. Various soccer leagues have come and gone, yet football remains.

The Anglosphere countries were good at inventing their own sports: soccer, rugby, cricket, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, Aussie rules football. They've been exported all over the globe, yet each remain popular in the home country and have never been supplanted by anything from outside. The outside sport may become part of the picture, but the native sport(s) endures.
