On the VOl board... keys to how to beat Georgia.

Gotta say, I agree.

quote:

- We need to get off to a fast start on offense for once. Sooner or later these two and three touchdown deficits will come back to bite us. I expect Sanford to be pretty rowdy and if Tennessee can jump out early, it will take the crowd out of the game and make UGA's offense one dimensional, which brings me to my next point

- Force Georgia to throw it often. UGA's OL is very bad and they have a freshman QB who has not handled the blitz very well. I read somewhere that Eason had a 4.8 QBR against OM and did not complete a pass against a blitz until the 4th quarter. Even with Chubb not at 100%, UGA still has a very talented crew in the backfield with Michel, Herrien and Holyfield. Get Georgia in a hole early and Jim Chaney will abandon the running game with a quickness, as we all know too well. Shoop did this exact same thing to Chaney when he was at Vandy in 2012 and really allowed his defense to tee off on Bray and Worley. If we can get consistent pressure and stop the run with just four, Georgia could really find themselves in a tough position offensively.

- Keep Dobbs upright and we can exploit their secondary. If the OL plays like they did against Florida, there will be mismatches deep as Georgia's backend is their biggest weakness on defense.

- Looking at the stats, it seems to me that Georgia special teams are quite bad. Their hipster kicker has missed more than he's made and their punter has the second lowest average in the SEC. I think we had a big advantage here but McKenzie is very dangerous on punt returns.

- Watch Isaiah McKenzie. He had a few drops against Ole Miss and he's very small but he is by far UGA'a most explosive player on offense. Georgia does not have a lot of talent at this unit or a big WR that can go get the ball like an Antonio Callaway (UF) or Isaiah Ford (VT) imo. This little fricker has the type of speed to take a simple out route or slant to the house if Tennessee's defense is not careful.

I honestly think our DBs aren't that bad, but we might have the worst pass rush I've ever seen from a Georgia defense. We are giving opposing QBs worlds of time to throw, with little to no stress involved. That's going to put a ton of stress on our backfield.

This will be Kamara's homecoming.

Dobbs is hot/cold, if he gets hot, it's over. Doesn't matter how shitty the rest of the VOL offense is playing. When he's hot, he makes plays by himself.

We have no field goal kicker.

Chubb is hurt.

Michel, remember, is only 12 weeks removed from a compound fracture.

McKenzie's dropsies from last year have moved back in.

Is Brendan Douglas hurt?

Wouldn't he still be out if the bone popped through the skin?

No not necessarily. Pretty sure I remember them saying his was compound. He's lucky it didn't get infected.

Dobbs is going to end up on an episode of Ancient Aliens as a missing link to our alien overlords.

People without eyebrows are not to be trusted. Book it.

Where his hairline begins is more disturbing IMO.

Ancient Astronaut theorists suggest that Joshua Dobbs comes from a race of people known by the Myans as the Unklephuckers.

The UT team that I saw in the first half last Sat was very beatable. The second half team is one that we have no chance against. Depends on what team they bring and how much piss and vinegar our staff is instilling this week. I'm not real hopeful. We just have too many holes.

Agree with all points.

If we can get our ground game going, this game will come down to the 4th quarter and we can also expect Holyfield to have a big game. I know it was only against Ole Miss 2nd string, but he looks like the real deal (moreso than Herrien who is good in his own right).
