Just so we're clear, this is one type of speech that the 1st amendment does NOT protect. So, it isn't just your opinion.

Guess you're too lazy to research Texas Vs. Johnson.

You seem to think pretty highly of yourself HRD. It's not a matter of lazy. I have a billion other things taking priority over this to be researching case law. The US Code verbiage was in the original article about the story. Don't assume anything about me until you know me. You have no idea about me and so let's not make it personal lest you fall into the same tactics as the political far left and Saul Alinsky. How would I know to look for that case to begin with? Why don't you enlighten us oh great one?

Instead of throwing your own personal knowledge around like a badge of honor and trying to use it to "prove" you're smarter than the rest of us, try using these threads as a teaching moment instead of posting a hollow response. I have no doubt you've spent a lot of time reading on this and other topics over the years and so I'm interested in what you know and have to say. I'd actually appreciate you sharing your knowledge because I can learn something from you instead of you putting me on the defensive automatically with a snippy response.

I'm not a teacher, and I learned a long time ago not interject without doing adequate research.

Go do what you do, and have fun doing it.

Oh goody. I will be passing through Dosta tomorrow evening on my way to a Members a Bass Tourney at my fishing utopia. I usually just bypass the Dosta exits and proceed on to exit 2 and head on about 2 miles to the lake. Might make a brief stop at my friends who own the fishing cabin. They live in North Valdosta. His mom is a very recently retired admin there. I need to get her synopsis.

"I too believe it is their right."

The thing with Free Speech/Free Expression stuff is that it really only applies to *prior* restraint by the Government (i.e., the .gov types can't do anything to prevent you from expressing yourself before you do it). It has little or nothing to do with consequences you might suffer *after* you express yourself. Once you do, the profits and the piss-offs both belong to you.

"Adequate research" is relative because ultimately you'd have some other nugget I haven't come across and call me lazy yet again. I know you're well read. I didn't say you're a teacher, but it could be a teaching moment. What I'm saying is, instead of calling me lazy and then naming a case without at least a "Bottom line..." you could help with my understanding instead of copping an attitude. I meant it when I said I'm interested in your opinion. I've followed you since the old Dawgrant and know you're well read. All you needed to say was, "well if you're familiar with Texas vs. Johnson in that case they _______". Is that so hard? You'd save me and a number of us the time. I don't have reason to doubt what you'd tell me.

Calling someone lazy for not knowing some super obscure knowledge nugget on some very rare topic is a cheap-shot and pretty egotistical.

I'm a financial planner. Do you know why I would recommend an oil & gas general partnership purchase to an investor I just completed a ROTH IRA conversion with?

What's that? No, you don't know why?

C'mon man. This information is readily available if you weren't so lazy and did the research.

That's pretty much what you sound like.

I know why you would recommend a oil and gas ETF. You get a nice commission.

LOL, no.

First of all, I didn't say ETF (exchange traded fund), I said a general partnership (which is a private equity Regulation-D placement and isn't "traded" on the stock market).

Second, buying and selling ETF's on the market pays a whopping $10-$40 per transaction.

How does everything racial in this country turn political?

What does a group of uneducated morons stomping on the flag at VSU have anything to do with democrats and republicans?

I don't know about the rest of you guys, I'm just about fed up with people whining about racial profiling and poor economic position.

I grew up in a small northeastern Georgia town, as a white child I was pretty much terrorized by certain african americans until middle school when they separated everybody based on test scores. My parents actually filed a police report at one point it had gotten so bad. I never said anything derogatory to anybody. The only thing I can ever remember really making these bullies mad was always beating them in footbal and basketball on the playground.

When it comes to racial issues during these times, everybody is a victim and guilty, its human nature. I tend to think of all the lives lost during the civil war when Americans were fighting to end slavery.

I read where she's also posed nude wrapped only in the american flag for some PETA ads too......

Now....is that any kind of respectful way to treat the sacred red white and blue corporate logo of the federal government parasite class?!?!!??!?!

I mean, what if she put a skid mark on it while wrapping it through her arse cheeks or left some pubes or even dingle-berries on it!!?!

Automatons, WILL WE LET THIS STAND???!!?????

Because race is political power in modern America.

- "To find out who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize." (Voltaire)

- "In multiracial societies, you don't vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion." (Lee Kuan Yew, former Prime Minister of Singapore)
