Looks like Mason is going to get a tryout with Miami. Not a UDFA, though.

The phins had a very nice draft. I would have liked for them to take a MLB or OG with their 2nd pick, but they got some solid additions and getting that RB out of boise was a steal.

Their offense should be really good next year with Landry/Parker/Stills/Jennings/Cameron for tanny to throw to.

Hutson Mason has been criminally underrated by Dawg fans and by many on GSB. Hutson possesses extraordinary accuracy and he is almost never intercepted. Mason's velocity was about average for the NCAA but on the weak side for the NFL. Arm strength is very much overrated.

I don't know if Mason can start in the pros but he is good enough to win a lot of games on a good team.

Mason is a poor man's chad pennington. Questionable arm strength, good accuracy and decision making. Unfortuantely, QBs like that don't really make it in the NFL. You HAVE to have some velocity, and Mason was good enough for us in college but the NFL is a different animal. He'll never be more than a 3rd stringer in the pros.

This post is almost as stupid as the one in my signature from you. Of course you aren't going to be intercepted when 90% of your throws are less than 7 yards down field. When he did throw down field it was either over thrown or not even relatively close to the intended target. Stating that he could win many games on a NFL team is completely ignorant. You put Mason on the '07 Patriots or any of the '80's 9er teams and he is lucky to win 2 games. He has no intangibles to ever play a down in the NFL, including preseason.

RunLindsayRun you must be blind as a bat. Go back and watch Mason and you will see plenty of deep throws.

I just watched a replay of last year's Auburn game where Mason threw deep a several times. The first bomb was a dropped TB pass to McKenzie. Later there were two deep bombs that Chris Conley dropped. All three of those passes were right on the money. Watch the Arkansas game. Watch the Kentucky game.

Mason was better than Aaron Murray. Murray was often a turnover machine with multiple interceptions and fumbles. Murray could've never bought UGA back from 20 down like Mason did.

I agree with you that people underestimate his deep ball. After the UT game, before which and up to he was pretty shaky in that department, he was really spot on with his long balls. But..

this makes you look like a fricking moron to a degree that can't even be explained by any amount of hyperbole.

We lost that game but Murray was clutch. Terrible luck.

I should've said that we never won from 20 down during Murray's time.

If Mason was better than Murray why did he sit behind him for four years?

maybe murray didn't put us in very many situations to be down 20?

Plus you're comparing a 50+ game career vs a 15 game career
