I guess being the last to do something can be a good thing... I doubt anyone else tears down their current one to build one more opulent than UGA(Maybe Bama or AU)....

The IAF was a major item on the agenda at UGA’s Athletic Board’s annual end-of-year retreat this past week in St. Simons. And while the Bulldogs didn’t unveil a lot of details at that gathering, word is Georgia is indeed going all out to make it the best of its kind in the SEC.

The bottom line is Richt apparently finally is going to get a Taj Mahal of an indoor facility right in the precise location where it was proposed to be built 17 years ago when Jim Donnan was head coach.
Now that’s progress!

I remember back in the mid 90s when 40 million bought a Ramsey Center sized facility. I had graduated by then but still sowing my wild oats in Athens until I finally escaped it's grasp in 97.

That was back before planning/engineering/administration/project-managing was 40% of the cost of a project.
These days you need 18 people in a room together for two hours to decide what kind of door latches are getting installed, and to develop a fallback plan in case those door latches end up posing some kind of issue, and whether or not the work will be warrantied, and if the GC's sub is an authorized installer of the decided upon door latch, and if not, should the installer jump through the hoops of getting certification or should a new installer be found that is already certified in the installation of that door latch by the manufacturer, and a follow-up meeting is going to be set, and if the existing non-certified door latch installer is ultimately chosen, then it will have to be ran by Legal to make sure there isn't any liability, and if there is some potential liability, then another meeting needs to be set up to address that.
