CBS Matchup Stats

UGA ------------------------ Ole Piss
AVG. YDS (RK) CATEGORY AVG. YDS (RK)
233.0 (66th) Pass Off. 325.3 (17th)
185.7 (57th) Rush Off. 115.7 (112th)
214.3 (60th) Pass Def. 216.3 (61st)
126.3 (50th) Rush Def. 242.7 (115th)

Based on these stats, we should be able to run the ball effectively and they will of course be able to throw the ball easily on us.

So, maybe our game plan is to try and go back to Chubb and Michel at the beginning of the game and see if we can run some clock and keep their Offense off the field.

So, their Dline is worse then Nicholls State?

I hope we run well and play action to the TE and IMac on crossing routes, but stats show we don't wake up for a 11am game....

Go Dawgs. We've done well against the West the last few years, but this is a new season.

We have to pray to god that Lorenzo Carter finally starts getting some serious pressure on the QB. probably not though.

Their DL is great against the Pass and getting pressure, but susceptible against the run.

Marquis Haynes is an awesome pass rusher but he is only 222lbs and running the ball at him is a bit more effective.

Leaving the MGM right now and OM is -7.5 with UGA -120 on it. Didn't bet it, but laid a few hundred on Clemson to cover -9.5 against the gnats.

We need to treat this like App St did against UT

Shorten the game. Run the clock down, run the ball. Limit the amount of possessions OM has

and not miss FGs......

Print it, laminate it and put it in Kirby's hands for the sidelines.

Practice report yesterday said Ham was still struggling with FG's.

Downfall this year for sure.

Stats are pretty sketchy indicators this early in the season. That said, OM is going to throw it around and will give UGA problems. They aren't balanced at all but don't appear to care.

They'll be fully committed to stopping Chubb and Michel early. UGA is going to have to spread them out and have some success throwing early to get the running game going in a meaningful way. Their defense has limited depth, so with their disinterest in time of possession offensively, they should start to fade defensively later in the game (see FSU and Bama).

UGA isn't as explosive offensively as FSU or Bama right now, so we need to at least stay in contact in the first half. They are and should be favored, but if UGA can turn them over a few times and hit a few big plays, it could get interesting. It's not as lopsided of a match up as people are making it out to be.

I agree with that statement.

Even after watching us throw the ball 50+ times last week? I'm thinking this will be the first defense we'll that won't be stuffing 8 and 9 in the box and shooting LB's in the gaps.

Unlikely. When you can't run vs Nicholls St. then it's going to be a long season. Unfortunately the Rebel pass defense will also shut down our non-stellar receivers other than hopefully McKenzie. Meanwhile our pass defense is going to be scorched by Kelly. This could easily become a very lopsided game. I just hope we can keep it close.

Based on Easons Missouri game I would call his development explosive at this point. He can fling it.

Thursday night heavy road favorites are notorious for not covering, not to mention having a short week to prepare for the triple option isn't great, so that's a bold strategy.

Yes. Any scouting report of UGA's offense starts with 27 and 1.

Nichols and Missouri have both almost beat us by crashing the running game and taking their chances. Ole Miss would be stupid not to do the same.

Lets hope we catch em doing this and take advantage of some single coverage.

Good Lord,if we only had ONE WR with talent of the Moore kid from Mizzou we'd be looking at a pretty freakin explosive offense.

Those stats don't take into consideration common opponents. Just plan on getting throttled. If we keep it close, be real happy. If we win, destroy some furniture.
