Not sure which is worse.........

...The hyper-sensitive finger-wagging PC busybodies, or the cowards like UGA that let themselves get bullied around by them.

It's par for the course in the current liberal progressive dominated world in which we live.

You just explained it in your post. They transformed liberal, which has a negative connotation, into progress which is perceived as positive.

The US has all of their fricking political terms backwards lol. To most of the world, if you say you are liberal, it means liberal as in free market. You see a lot of literature talking about the US being the most liberal country in the world and by that, they mean the US is the most economically liberal relative to the rest of the world in trying to limit government interference.

Progressive is just another example. It's a term used to describe people which has nothing to do with progress. It's a dumb catch all phrase that needs to die out.

Just as liberals are not always liberal nor pogressive, conservatives are not always in to conservation. They are both just labels and not to be taken literally in all instances.

While banning hoop skirts is completely ridiculous, I am in full support of banning skinny jeans with duck boots

Believe it or not, yea. Apparently LLBean didn't have enough stock of duck boots for christmas this year. Lol. I'm guessing half the inventory was shipped to portland but there are sightings in GA. It will only get worse before it gets better.

Enh, utopia always ends in death camps.

But *this* time, they've got the *right* people in charge, and *this* time, they'll kill the *right* enemies of the people. Just like every other time totalitarianism has been tried......

Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of people would rather be ruled than to live (at least relatively) free.

I would hardly say the majority of people wants to be ruled. More like a minority wants to be lazy and get free shite and then another minority feels guilty about their "white privilege" and wants everyone who's successful to suffer and pay some recompense.

I'd say the vast majority of people are a lot more conservative than they realize they are. Especially people who think they're Liberals.

Ask a Liberal if he wants the government to take away his cell phone or car and give it to someone who hasn't earned it, but has all the means to earn those things on their own if they chose to, and I'll bet you that Liberal says, "Hell no, I worked to pay for those things."

Well, that's precisely a Conservative mentality. You see, most of these Libs are only "Liberal" until their ideologies effect them directly. Then they're as conservative as it gets.

Progressives are the ones we have to worry about. They're not liberal at all, they're extreme Socialists. They've just hijacked the term "progressive" because of its positive connotation, and the fact they can drag Liberals under their umbrella by simply adopting most of the Lib talking points, which they really don't care about.

And many so-called conservatives are quite liberal when it suits them. The majority of people want the same basic things and likely can agree on a middle ground. The politicians use hot button issues to divide and conquer when those issues typically are of little significance to normal day to day life of most Americans.

Down with hoop skirts.

Down with skirts.

Down with panties.

The administration didn't go far enough.

Amen. Stating that Colorado and other states shouldn't be able to legislate the legality of a substance is the most progressive/big federal government position possible and yet I have many self described "conservative" friends argue that point.

And to get back on topic. Banning hoop skirts is so fricking dumb it makes my head hurt. I've never been the "Confederacy was the height of honor and was infallible in every way, lets dress up like officers in a rich man's war" type of guy, but this is pure PC ignorance that screams to be noticed as a do-gooder. Insanity. The shape of a dress means nothing and what's worse is that the administrators that made this call know it. They purely want to appear like they are on the feel good side of an issue.
