I'm most likely going to register my son for the one day lineman camp this week. I was just wondering if any of you fellows had kids or knew someone that have attended. Any reviews and feedback would be appreciated.

Marc Weiszer fine. ACCPD not so much.

Weiczer will report the arrest before the arrest report is released. Paid off bail bondsmen.

Gotcha, I thought you were talking about exposure but now that you mention it , they are Johnny on the spot with arrest reporting.
One thing Tuscaloosa PD and Athens PD have in common is a hard on for busting football players balls. I've never understood it. Either way, his young arse better not be studying anything but a pig skin at these camps that I'm busting my arse to pay for.

NCAA is the reason it isn't all inclusive, right?

By all inclusive are you referring to meals, lodging, etc?

He turned 15 a couple of months ago.

If he has size beyond 6'2 and is anywhere north of 240 take him to as many of those one day camps. They are more like tryouts with coaching when they get to the football stuff. Great way to get on the radar.
If he is below that and isn't expected to get that big then just go and enjoy the experience. Maybe learn some stuff that will help in high school.
He will run the 40, pro shuttle, broad jump, vertical jump and will do some bag drills. There will be ALOT of kids there it there isn't a great amount of recruiting going on with those but some.

Worth your money for sure. We usually attend one out of state but the SEC/ACC ones always get your child some excellent coaching.

He is a freshman this year. Somewhere between 6-0 -6-1", 220 ish plenty of time to get taller and bulk up. Given my wife and my family's size the pediatrician is estimating between 6'4 and 6'6.
He is a good kid, in all quest classes and keeps his grades up for the most part so I've told him that he can have at least one big school & FCS school a summer with some one day camps mixed in. He's doing Bamas overnight camp this summer and UGA the next.
As far as recruiting goes, that's the reason I told him that he has to do a small program instead of two big ones. Based of numbers alone, there are a lot more small schools than SEC Schools.
Porter Osborne, at the end of the day if he walks out of these camps with nothing more than damn good coaching and memories to last a lifetime, I think he and I will both be happy.

I'd go ahead and look at all different size schools and see where he fits in. It won't take long to figure out if your kid is DI or DIII.

Most of the time coaching is better at the smaller schools camps. Furman used to be the one to go to for skill positions. I'm not sure about long linemen.
Check out Mike Hodges's OL/DL camp. It is a really good 3 day camp and they get great fundamental work. Would be a great tune up before going in front of the colleges.

Appreciate the heads up on the Mike Hodges's Camp. I had never heard of it but after some research, it looks to be the most legit Camp out there. I think we are going to try and get him in there.

It is really good for fundamentals but if you're pretty advanced this camp won't give you as much. Really awesome for the younger inexperienced players.
