LA sports fans suck. If they go 8-8 in 2016, the Rams will struggle to draw 50,000 fans to games in 2017.

If I was him I'd much rather live in LA than St Louis. Good for him! I really don't get the whole sharing a stadium with the Chargers thing though.

You mean when he gets his new contract. He should play out his contract and go free agent so he can move to a better state such as Texas or Florida where there are no income taxes.

A 3,000 sq ft house in L.A. on average will cost you over $1.5M. Go bigger, pay more. Then you get to pay property taxes every year which will go up. He will now have a state income tax of 13.3% on top of the highest federal income tax rate. There are other numerous taxes all designed to pay retired public employees over a $100K a year in retirement for the rest of their lives. Trust me, you do not want to live there unless you started google.

I would agree it is nicer if you have a lot of money.

Which he sorta will.

But that said, does any of that count if he doesn't LOVE in L.A.? Lots of players seem to live in places other than where they play. And how does it work on income tax? Is it based on the team being based there? About half of his income would be earned in other states, so how does that play in?

Ole Todd should have field day signing as many autographs as he wants out there

I'm talking about marketing himself in the second biggest media market in the US as the young star of the new NFL team.

Be careful with the edge, bro. You might hurt yourself.

from what I've read pro athletes taxation situation is ridiculous..they are taxed by every municipality they perform in (city, county, state, and even country)..this means a lot more NFL players are going to be taxed higher because of a switch from Missouri to California. Gurley can "reside anywhere he wants but he will definitely lose more money due to this move. That's not to say he can't increase his "off the field" income by this move, which I'm guessin he will.

Good points. I knew their situation was not quite the same as ours. Just wasn't sure how different it really was.

Yes he will pay more taxes but he gets to live in CA and not Missouri. Well worth it when making the kind of money he does IMO
