It's her 5th year as coach and we started the season off last night in Baton Rouge, scoring a measley 193.600.

As everyone should know, anything under 196.00 in gymnastics is bad.

The program has regressed each year she's been in Athens, and to score that low simply means she isn't preparing our team. These are all her recruits as well, so no more blaming the cupboard being empty. Simply put, she needs to get fired.

One of McGarity's prized head coaching failures.

Do we suck at women's gymnastics now? I remember we were dominate when I was there

Historically, UGA is the best Gymnastics program of all time (Thanks Coach Yoc) but we haven't done shite other than some token appearances at the Finals since Yoculan left. We've been supplanted in conference lately by LSU, Florida, and Bama depending on the year.

While YOC did build the program , she stopped recruiting after McCool and the Kupets girls. She left the cupboard bare and leaving Jay in a no win situation costing him his job. It will take time to replace the mistakes.

Wouldn't it make more sense to fix the mistakes, rather than simply replacing them?

From what I understand, this is a rebuilding year for the gymdawgs. They have graduated a ton of girls. And many of those gymnasts were in their first collegiate match of their careers.

That doesn't excuse the recruiting or coaching. Just that this isn't the season anyone was pinning their hopes and dreams on.

We went to the Super Six last year and took home 2 individual titles in vault and uneven bars. We graduated a lot of seniors and this is a young team. The team has not been the same since Yoculan retired and I hope it does get back there again, but you can't fire a coach who went to the Super Six last year and graduated so many seniors....

I was told her daughter will be on the team next year and that she is a 5 star.
