The first 2:30 of this Scout video with Mark Richt published 3 hours ago... this is why Bauta will be the man.

Lots of coach-speak. But, he really does make it sound like the order is Bauta->Ramsey->Lambert, I must admit.
And I hope that's the actual case. I think Bauta gives us the best chance with his mobility as an option.

There's no such thing as Santa Claus
There's no such thing as the Easter Bunny
And there's no such thing as a fricking tied three-man QB race
Grow up.
Also: Learn the names of our Centers

I would like to see Bauta. But I think Ramsey gets the nod. Drop back, better arm. If Richt gave it to Lambert I would be stunned as he would jump folks that have been in the program and paid their dues. Unlike Richt.

Yeah he said Lambert.
I was just discussing this the other day with my Dad, if we got Mason like production again and if our defense takes the next step and Chubb/Michel produce like they should we could be very very good.
If ball security is what we're going for, Bauta might be it. Him running it would be an added bonus.

Was it Bobo or ,Staffird that got hit so hard he lined up under Guard the next play?

I don't give a frick who it is anymore if they're the best option.

Thanks for the post.
I'm really encouraged after hearing Richt talk about the contenders. It sounds very much like Bauta is the starter and it is almost certain that he's in the top two.
Once the season starts live action might lead to one of the others taking the job but my bet is on Bauta. High percentage passing with good ball security is the winning hand.

thought this was pretty funny....someone on the Rivals board made this analogy following the PC:
"Gonna go with a Talladega Nights analogy
Brice Ramsey as Ricky Bobby is getting by on god-given ability though he reportedly likes to party and struggles with the playbook.
Lambert is Jean Girard, a new-comer on the scene and has the cerebral edge on Ramsey. He comes from UVA (might as well be France).
Faton is good ole Kyle Naughton Jr, the consummate team player with skills of his own.
Perhaps the endless competition between Ramsey and Lambert will cause one or both to crack. If given an opening look out for Bauta coming up on the outside"

I'm confused by your tactics. But if what you say is true, there is only one solution...
Slingshot...engage!

dude, we get it.
You like grantham and you think bauta should start. And both of those are wrong.

He was probably only being complimentary of Bauta because despite the fact the kid is a hard worker, talent talks in this league and talent makes a difference. Richt probably feels bad that he has to sit the kid who works the hardest because he's the least talented.
I get the sense that the coaches feel if we start Bauta, we're going to have the same sort of offense we did last year. We have some really great players to throw the ball to this year and we don't want to waste that talent like we did last year. Ramsey has to be the guy to go out there and sling it around for us and use all that talent.

Not going to lie. I would take Masons productivity in a heartbeat right now. And I believe Bauta wouldn't be as timid as Mason was at the beginning of the season.
I've always thought Bauta would be our safest bet. Ramsey would be feast or famine. And Lambert is an unknown.
And for some reason, I keep thinking that our starting QB is going to get hurt and we're going to see the second guy anyway.

I don't get this. Bauta has never attempted a downfield pass in game. Not even in a spring game.

And for Chubb, Michel, etc. to be more effective in the backfield you would like a QB that can at least hold the safeties accountable with the deep threat. I don't think Bauta provides that at all.

They're all pretty much unknown.

That's exactly what it was...
His comments on Lambert were short and sarcastic because he was still in smartass mode from the previous question...then he gave the stock non-answer about Ramsey...and then everything he said about Bauta reeked of exactly what you said it does.
1) Ramsey
1) Lambert
3) Bauta
There's your scorecard...
