WE ARE SITTING ON frickING $70 MILLION IN THE GODDAMN BANK YOU PRICK!!!

Meanwhile, Foley is sitting on a $10 million improvement plan that won't begin until at least $5 million is fundraised.

You stingy, sanctimonious, false sense of superiority having pieces of shite! We lose because you a.) refuse to spend the money needed to win - cough, cough, Atlanta Thrashers, cough, cough - and b.) insist on punishing our players for shite that wouldn't see the light of day at any other school for a first offense.

It's enough to make me second guess my loyalty which is bullshite because I would sooner die and be buried in Athens than live anywhere else.

Seriously? You need to move on from college if you've graduated

Really? Anymore info on that? Foley might be one of the worst SEC baseball stadium outside of Kentucky and Mizzou. After those really good years we had, I'm surprised they haven't made more of an effort to improve it. Really, they need to tear it down and start completely over.

Just what is in the article linked above. Last I saw any renderings, they were suggesting rotating Foley so that home plate was in the current right field corner. But now that they've cleaned up Kudzu hill, I doubt thay do that.

Personally I think that statement is a testament to the UGA state of mind. The "do just enough to get by" mentality seems to be the s.o.p with the administration. Or maybe I just need to temper my expectations for uga sports.

I'm just sick of athletic franchises and programs in this state passing on this "we want to win championships, but only if we stay under budget" line. That mentality pretty much lost Atlanta a second hockey franchise as they were never competitive and the Hawks have been sputtering along with that philosophy while the Heat, Oklahoma City, and all of the other successful teams in the NBA have proven that it's all about investing big to win big.

The Falcons seem to be the only franchise that has really embraced the "got to spend money to make money" philosophy, though the Braves seemed to finally flip the switch by going after the Uptons this offseason.

NEVER!!! That is exactly what they want you to do. They want us to become complacent with just going to the SECCG because we do things "the right way" when really they refuse to take the next step.

Nobody has ever made progress by tempering expectations, and having an "awe shucks" attitude, frick that noise bro

ONE DAY WE SHALL RISE AND OVERCOME!!!

It's probably the same article but I read somewhere that they won't start building until they raise $5 million and they only have $1 million which the Foley's donated.

Yea, can't say this surprises me. Really disappointed in how they've handled spending because as everyone has said it's not like they'd be siphoning it from other needed areas. We are sitting on a ton and that's with the AD giving the university cash every year.

I honestly don't know who to point the finger at either. Is it McGarity? Is it Adams? Is it the whole board except for the one guy who asked if they were doing enough? WHO AM I SUPPOSED TO SPEW FIRE AT????????

Does this have anything to do w/ maybe UGA trying to distance itself from the football factory aspect and maintain some semblance of academic integrity?

I think it's the just the culture in the AD that has permeated multiple levels. I think a lof of it is Adams but honestly if McGarity doesn't hit a HR with this baseball coach then I'm gonna start doubting him. Outside of his restructuring of Richt's contract most of what he's done lately has irked me, especially the bitching out of FSU stuff.

No, because the Athletic Department donates roughly $5 million a year to the University. Meanwhile, the AD is investing not even half of that into what the money is intended for (not to mention that the University does just fine, I imagine, from grants and donations without the added help of the AD). You can be both an athletic powerhouse AND an academically prestigious institution. But Tech wouldn't understand such simple math. And apparently neither does the UGA AD

Too late. Getting rid of Perno was a step in the right direction. But now we're not even going to take the initiative to use the gobs of money we have to overhaul one of the Big 3 sports which is still stuck in the mid-90's? Not to mention we're just letting basketball slither right back under the bench it has been sleeping under since Nique was here.

Someone in Butts-Mehre needs to grow some stones and invest some money. We haven't been left behind yet, but we're falling behind the pack and it is scary to think that our AD is ok with that for the sake of avoiding costs.

I really thought they'd get in the spending spirit. Really did. It's almost like they see the Floridas, Alabamas, and so on spending this money and they wanna show the world they can have almost as good a program at half the cost. More about efficiency than championships. Of course, I don't see Alabama struggling to make end's meat even though they spend twice what we do on football alone.
