We had a really rare fumble by Chubb and Mac had a mental frickup. Only reason they got two touchdowns. Our play calling needs some work, something to open up the outside. WR screens, stuff like that, but the defense (Trent Thompson especially) played awesome except when the offense gave them 11 yards to work with. Eason first start was predictable, the drops didn't help him and the pick (think they ran it back?) wasn't his fault really our WRs collided on the cross route.
TL;DR a lot of strange things happened, need to coach the O line up, Eason is growing up in front of our eyes.

We're 2-0 with all of our dreams intact with extra motivation going into SEC play.

Tennessee offensive line looks way worse than ours and Dobbs looks more like a Freshman than Eason so far this season, and we might have the best defense in the East.

The defense played well yesterday and Eason looked comfortable also. In hindsight I think the 2 position groups that didn't play well are the OLine and receivers.

Not to mention, their team was the benefit of quite a few tipped passed. They got a lot of lucky plays. The fumbles im not worried about.

The team is still infected with richtitus ... gonna take a little time to fully eradicate the infection.

Me thinks you failed to watch the rest of the game.
If there's anything we learned from Tennessee, it's that you can come back the next game after one like today and ball out. Today means nothing, moving forward. Still, there's a lot of work to do.

Yep, the Vols dominated in the 2nd half. Tennessee will likely beat us by a couple of TD's in Sanford Stadium. They have a good, experienced mobile QB who is just as much a running threat as Hurd and Kamara. They have a veteran OL. They have tall outstanding receivers. Their defense now has quality depth and can play with anyone the entire game. Tennessee will likely win the East but lose to Bama in a close game in the SECCG.

I feel like Chaney is running too vertical of an offense for Eason and this WR group but maybe he is doing it to help Eason make his reads because he might struggle with receiver/defender spacing in the tighter offensive formations. Either way, I'd like to see some shorter passes like the IMac 10 yard comeback that was turned into a long TD or some quick slants.
Tennessee still does not scare me. Almost seemed like VT was point shaving in the 2nd half with all those unforced turnovers.

TO's were definitely a huge factor in that game but pressure from Tennessee's defense and special teams definitely contributed to some of the turnovers.
On a separate note, all special teams need to be coached on how to manage these rugby-style punts. Two times during that game player was struck by the punt with his back to the ball unaware of where the ball was landing. The situation can easily become like a long onside kick.

We won the game and hopefully learned some lessons. I find it sad that some want to melt and fire our OC. This was a freshman QB first start. We sucked it up but we are 2-0. Next week will be telling.
