An improved Eason will be great. But QBs I'm college don't win the tough games. Those games are won in the trenches and with the OL/tailbacks (or scrambling QBs ). If we can't run in the redzone, Eason won't get us to 10 wins on his own.

I am not convinced that the run game is improving unless we can show an upgrade at Center.

I agree. Center play was awful this year. Andrews was mvp for years.

If the fat man can devise an offense that is not the same old predictable one we've seen for a decade now we might hav something. There are some real offensive geniuses out there that can move the ball. We are capable but IMO we're held back by the likes of Chaney. Play like your life depends on it and damn the torpedoes!!

I think Chaney's offense would work with Eason's continued development and offensive line improvement. IMO, pro style is still the best offense out there if you have the talent to run it.

If Eason's not ready in 2017, Fromm might be.

Guys...Eason had a great year this past year....for a freshman. Perspective is our friend. He still has a lot to learn, but he did great! It will help to have Fromm push him and be a backup, but Eason was fine and will be even better in 2017.
(This was not aimed at you, gulfport...I just keep seeing people criticize Eason as not being ready, or looking bad)

Our WR, also improved as the season went along. Wims and Riley were excellent and getting better. Add Holloman and Webb, and we should be light years ahead of where we were last year. I can't think of a single area on the team in which we should not be improved.

Better hope Eason improves on accuracy or we will be 3rd in the East yet again.

If we finish 3rd, then Kirby will have a LOT to answer for. This team should be greatly improved. A third place finish would be unforgiveable. A second place finish would be frustrating.

After the bowl game I am going to start a thread about Chaney and hopefully open some eyes about him. I'm sure there will be a lot of people that disagree with what I say, but if they will look at facts, and use their brains I think they will realize I am right. I want to see what we do in the bowl game, first, though.

This is one of , if not the most, exciting teasers I have ever seen. I presume that you have most of it written already and just need the bowl game to finish it up? Dude, this is exciting as hell and I can't thank you enough for giving me this heads up. I will definitely be dialed in the day after the bowl game and read your breakdown as soon as it is posted.

Then you csn tailor your comments to fit the result. Wouldn't be good for you to state your case now and be proven wrong. If what you say has merit, then one game won't change it. Give it to us.

It won't be based upon one game, but the whole season. That's why I want to wait.

And to answer Leverage's snarky response, I am not and never claimed to be an expert. I am going to lay out an argument as to why we should be patient with Chaney. I will probably post it Monday. It is only my opinion, and should be read as such...not as a "Hey look at me, I know more than anybody else."

Announcing when you are going to write an Op Ed comes off as "look at me

I think he was trying to do a promo. Needed a picture to go along with it though.

Edit: crediting deeprig for the idea.

And you would be correct....it was. I regretted it the minute i posted it. After thinking about it, I went back to delete it, but people had posted to it. It was not meant that way, but it certainly does come out that way.

I apologize for the way I handled it. It was done clumsily and poorly on my part.

Deeprig gave me the idea yesterday when he posted in a thread that tour guides for the bowl game would be "Jake and the Fat Man" so I found a photo from that tv show.

It shouldn't be a surprise that the offense struggled yesterday when the run game was dormant.

And that we finished with 30 points because we could run at will in the second half. We scored 30+ 4 times. The 3 wins were with 200+ rushing yards and 2+ rushing TDs. The loss was to Tennessee and we didn't have a lot of success on the ground. We keep focusing on Easons development. It is too much pressure on a kid who is not the key cog to our offensive success.
