Get ready folks. The dynamic of bitching and moaning is about to take a new turn! Isn't this exciting? Here is how I see it shaking out:

The people who loved Richt and followed him, regardless of the on-field results, AKA Richt Lovers will now be the " I told you So'ers" Get ready because no matter what happens from now until who knows when, every time something bad happens, it will be them yelling "See! I told you they shouldn't have fired him".

The people who have despised Richt will now become worshipers of the new coach, whoever that is, and will defend him to the bitter end. Every time something good happens, they will shout in prideful glee "See! I told you this guy was good! Richt would never have done this!"

These are exciting times my friends...a new breed of bitch and moan dynamic is evolving in Athens.

Can't wait!

What about the ones who continue to bitch about everything? What are they called? It applies to at least a third on here.

Good point...I assume the "We hate everything" folks will prob not change much....most of them need Lithium, not a coaching change in Athens.

The one's that wanted Richt gone will just blame UGA for not making the right hire, not keeping the right OC or DC, or not making sure the recruits stayed. Timing, etc. Easy outs.

I, personally, just recently posted (before this happened) that I had finally moved to the "Richt has to go" crowd, but only if we have the right hire in hand. Hopefully we do.

Truth is, with the right OC and DC in place, we may be waking a sleeping giant at UGA. Or we could be putting ourselves in the nap of mediocrity for next few years.

I see it as an improvement or a steep decline. I doubt it will be status quo. Get ready for SEC championships or losing to UK and Vandy. One or the other.

The first part has already proven true. But this second part, at least for me, is false. I'm a fan of the team. I'll turn on the new coach just as fast as I did Richt. Bet on it.

I just want to compete...win the games you should, at least split the push's, and win a few of the games you shouldn't.

that's funny..I believe most of the old dawgranters were neutral on Richt's hiring and not until Richt had done 10-12 really stupid things were most of us fed up..personally I liked Donnan but I could see how that drug thing and losing to GT got him gone..

next HC gets a pass on the first season unless he continually proves to be a total dumbass (calling TOs when he didn't have one, continual time management issues, etc) but I doubt from the pool of pretty good HC available that we will be subjected to such moronity.

next year becomes fun again

I hope we make the right hire, and we go up. I don't mind the ones who called for Richt to be fired saying, "I told you so!" if it means we are getting better.

However, I have defended Richt and said I felt like it would be a mistake to fire him....so....yes. I will probably say "I told you so."

I guess when you look at it from that perspective, I am in a no lose situation!

If we don't make the NC game in 2016 then this will obviously be a bad turn of events. New coach must go and hire another.

I'm in this camp. Richt was the best HC we have had but he appeared to have reached his maximum potential.

It is simply time for a change...change for the sake of change. That simple. Yes. it would have been better had Richt won a few more conference titles but it didn't happen...time to move on.

Richt was a great coach at times and will probably be so again sometime, wouldn't be surpirsed it it wasnt in Columbia....

And it would not be surprising for him to do great things elsewhere....but it was stale here...complacency in every aspect and that is hard to change without a major shakeup.

ANyone who thinks it is going to be better soon is delusional...if it is great...but more likely we are looking at a couple of hard years and hopefully better ones afetr that...even in the worse case it was simply time for a change.....

Likewise. Close to home and Richt would recruit a lot of the same players he has attracted at Georgia. I'm hoping that Mark takes an administrative position with UGA but I don't think he will. He might be burned out on coaching and moves on to something else.
