Pretty self explanatory, sometimes I think about the guys we had who didn't pan out for a variety of reasons, be it injury or otherwise. Here are a few names that come to mind of guys who I liked and could have contributed more.
Defensive
Quintin Banks - heavy hitter
Marquise Elmore - yea
Brandon Miller - I hear he's a nice guy
Marcus Dowtin - a bad man on the field, a shame he couldn't keep it together
Cornelius Washington - i know he finished at UGA but cmon! dude should have dominated, i forgot he was out there most of the time.
Montez Robinson - looked good in the very limited action he saw, seemed real talented
TJ Stripling - shoulda been leonard floyd-ish
Offense:
Tony Wilson - Pig Howard type of possession receiver. I liked his physicality
Bartley Miller - shoulder problems cut his career short, could went next level
Mario Raley - always heard about him, never saw the field much
Zeb McKinzey - anyone know what happened at UGA?
AJ Bryant - never could learn how to catch, what a shame, he was fast as heck
Carlton Thomas - wish we had a scat back like him sometimes, he was fun while he lasted

This makes me feel bad for the people who had to endure my posts on the old DR 7 years ago, back when I was 13 years old. But to go along with your post, Crowell, Sturdivant, and Richard Samuel had we kept him at one position.

Wouldn't Quincy Carter have to make that list?

You can't have Quincy without mentioning Will Witherspoon on the defensive side.

Carter and Jasper Sanks should have been the best backfield we've ever had, but injuries (Sanks) and cocaine (Carter) got in the way. Carter at LSU in 1998 as a freshman had one of the best nights by a QB in school history.
That's probably the ultimate what could have been scenario in UGA football.

This kid is coaching receivers at Colquitt County HS along side Hudson Mason (QB Coach) these days.

As of yesterday; Troupe is the only one left at Colquitt. Hutson signed a contract with Saskatchewan in the CFL and has left his position at CCHS.

Wut???

Witherspoon started 3 years at UGA and played in the NFL over 11. Made it to a Super Bowl and also made serious bank.

yeah that made no sense. He started practically his whole career and had over 200 tackles. Also won the 99 LSU game for us.
I think some people are just throwing out names of people who were good but weren't consensus 1st team All Americans. People like mudcat, Albert Hollis, brandon miller....those guys fit the mold for the topic IMO. Witherspoon does not.

Jasper Sanks was a total bust! Georgia had Jamal Lewis headed to Georgia until they picked Sanks.

I think he meant that Will saved his arse in the LSU game.

RB Torin Kirtsy is on the list for sure. He was batshat crazy but could tote the football. He's the guy who hit Marcus Williams in the head with a bat and cut smoke detector wires so he could smoke.

Robert Edwards is near the top of my list.
Posted on 9/10/15 at 9:21 am to Porter Osborne Jr
if not for injury edwards could have gone down as a top 5 RB in our history.
That 95 season through basically 1.5 games (SC then partial against UT) he had 45 carries for 325 (7.2 per) and 7 total TDs. He was beating the shite out of UT until he demolished his ankle. 96 he couldnt' hold on to the damn ball and 97 he had himself a nice little season. It's funny looking back now at how starved we were for good football during the goff/donnan years...I just looked it up and in 97 he ran for 900 yards and 12 TDs. AFter the last several years that seems damn near pedestrian.
But going back to what you said porter...I wonder how different our mid-90s would have been had he been healthy his whole career.

I was at that game. UT simply couldn't stop him. I was crazy.
I don't think he belongs on a "coulda" team. He "did" imo.
