A well thought of poster on 24/7 had this to say:

if i had my way about it no one would know about his availability until he comes out for pregame warmups. i hope the decision does not get leaked out

It sounds cryptic. But my own interpretation is that he WILL be back. And that some people already KNOW when that is.

Don't see a large competitive advantage by keeping it secret.

No matter whether Chubb or Gurley are on the field, Arky goes through the exact same game preparation. Chubb & Gurley have the same running style and UGA uses the same gameplan regardless of who is out there.

Gurley vs Michel/Marshall would be a different ballgame.

I just don't think UGA (or any program for that matter) would be capable of keeping it quiet until Saturday. If that was the case, as soon as he got on the team plane, everyone would find out. But I don't think it could be kept a secret that long either. I also don't think it would change Arkansas' game plan all that much as stated above. It would certainly change their ability to execute it though

This is excruciating as most just want to know either way.

Besides from the capability, I don't think they want to. They want this thing to be over just like all of us do. I would imagine that as soon as there is a resolution, they'll put out a press release pretty quick and get it behind us.

I have to say I don't think the University would keep this quiet...it's to big and is being watched by all. If we need that type of fake juice to beat Arkansas then our program is a lot worse off then I thought. Also....UGA wants him cleared and will put out a announcement asap...it makes the school look better instantly

Someone in the NCAA office, our athletic dept, or the players in pure elation of having Gurley back would leak the information to either a journalist, a friend who would then go to a reporter, or on twitter.

In this day and age, you really can't keep anything quiet. Twitter has completely changed the game in that regard.

Plus the post itself is ironic. If the poster knows something that he doesn't want to get out. Why post "I hope it doesn't get out" which leads us all to wonder about it. Thus this thread.

This is such a cornball fantasy......

Bottom Line: Gurley fricked up and screwed his team, coaches, and school over. For selfish reasons.

UGA isn't going to try to make a fricking hero out of him now after this.....and have him make some surprise entrance running out through smoke during pre-game doing the ray lewis dance to the surprise and joy of college football fans.

Not gonna happen. Ever. Get your shite together.

I thought this thread was sort of a continuation of Buck's failed thread?

I would assume it means he absolutely will be reinstated, ie he's not out for the season.

But we still don't know how long he's suspended dangit

I guess you can say it failed but I still feel like the people I spoke with are hearing the same thing and that they are not full of shite.
