Still think Greyson Lambert is going to be ok.

He started off 0/7 with some bad throws, including the second half, but finished 11/14 for 116 yards with no no real bad throws. The fact that the coaches left him in shows that they have a lot of faith in the kid.

I'm starting to think that a large part of the passing problems are lack of talent/depth at wide receiver. We just don't seem to have the ability to stretch the field despite improved arm strength this season.

My two cents.

I think we have some guys to throw to but our play calling is so predictable. We took one shot to mitchell yesterday and he threw it into double coverage.

well that's certainly not true. Our receivers are perfectly fine. Our passing issues have been due to conservative playcalling (which we expected anyway due to opponent, look for that to change against SC), a few bad throws (it happens), and a drop or two (Lambert's first pass hit chubb squarely in the hands and was dropped).

Our receivers absolutely are not a problem. Mitchell, Godwin, Mckenzie, and Davis are perfectly fine for what we want to do.

I know Chigbu hasn't played a lot of football think he started playing his junior year but I hope him and shakenneth can make some contributions.

They didn't look great yesterday. They'll get better but if they don't improve, we will have issues.

Not calling you out specifically WG, just using this as an example for the broader topic..

It's bullshite to blame receivers/dropped passes when a QB has shitty numbers.

The reason 70% completion percentage is considered elite is because it's expected that 30% of the passes will be dropped/blocked/penalty which is out of your control.

30% of your throws can go incomplete and you can still be considered a badass.

Lambert is currently at 57%. Against ULM and Vandy.

That's dog shite.

He's 50% on 3rd down.

Inside the 20 he is 33%.

Granted, it's only two games of stats to look at... but those two games were ULM and Vanderbilt. You are supposed to pad your stats with games like this. You don't normally get considerably better as the competition gets stepped up.

Ramsey is the one with the strong arm, not lambert. Go back and look at how long MItchell had to wait for a ball on a simple hitch route vs Monroe. It was bad.

I think the playing calling was pretty conservative, but Lambert certainly isn't instilling confidence in the casual observer with how he's carrying out these plays. I agree that there was a few drops, but there were more just flat out bad throws. Mainly in the first half and the beginning of the second. The other problem is the batted balls at the line. This guy is too tall for that. Hopefully he starts looking like what he does in practice come gameday, because right now he would likely struggle against many of the teams remaining on our schedule.

I'm not blaming receivers exclusively. Lambert struggled yesterday and there's no way around it. I didn't get around to watchign the 2nd half today but in watching some of the first half again, he wasn't nearly as bad as we want to make him out to be. His first pass was 100% chubb's fault, it was a straight up drop. He made a bad throw to jeb on his 2nd pass (correct read) and led Godwin about 6 inches too far on his 3rd pass (correct read).

He's not where he needs to be. That is a fact. But he's not shite awful like some people think he is. It's also worth noting that when Ramsey came in we called 2 gimme passes for him that me or you could have completed.

Maybe if he was a better qb he would have put some touch on it, instead of acting like he's Nolan Ryan, and that would have been a completion.

He was terrible in the first half for sure, but I was sitting 30 yards away from that pass, and Chubb definitely should have caught it.

so now a 5 yard pass to our heisman candidate RB that hits him in both hands and is dropped is the QB's fault...got it.

I mean I love NC as much as the next guy, but I'm also not a moron and can realize that sometimes he does make mistakes. That was one. That drop was his fault. The ball wasn't "too hard" or whatever you're implying, it was simply dropped.

We're on the same page here...not sure why you're trying to be a contrarian. Oh nvm, I forgot you think bauta should be playing. Carry on.

That's why I said in my reply to you that I wasn't necessarily calling you out, just using one of your sentences as a jumping off point to make a point about Lambert's shittiness.

You seem to have no problem throwing Lambert under the bus in front of your SEC Rant buddies, but when I throw him under the bus here, people get defensive.

Should be the other way around.

please provide examples. I haven't said anything about him anywhere that I haven't said anywhere else. After Saturday, I've been consistent on both boards in saying he looked bad the first half and there's no way around that, but he's not a bad quarterback.

If this is your expectation, we could have Baylor-era RGIII back there and you would still have something to complain about.

Geez he's played 2 fricking games. Game 1 was perfectly fine, absolutely nothing wrong with anything he did against ULM. His first half saturday was woeful. He rebounded and finished 11/21 for 116 yards. Is that great? NO! And I've never once claimed it is either. But yall act like he's some middle schooler out there. I really can't wait til saturday when we actually let him loose and open up the playbook for him so yall can STFU.

Here's some numbers for you. 21/33, 169 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT. How are those numbers? They suck dick right? Those were Greene's numbers in his 2nd career start, at home no less. It's a long season. Chill the frick out.
