He'll have a huge year if the rest of the offense and get some life. After Chubb went down, him and Malcom Mitchell carried the entire damn offense on their backs.

I hope DRob signs with UGA. I think we need someone to replace MM's ability to stretch the field a little bit.

I haven't really kept up with recruiting this year but I watched Javom Wims' highlights and I think he can. He was very impressive at getting the ball at its highest point and securing it in traffic.

This is my thought as well. Wims at 6'4" with JUCO experience should be the dependable WR for Eason. Couple him with Godwin, Simmons, Ridley (maybe), and any of the other wrs already on campus that maybe weren't ready last year and I think we should be in good shape. Additionally, I'm *hoping* that Chaney remembers that we have TE, because that position is effing loaded and can create some serious mismatches for us if we leverage them well.

This. If anything Nauta, Blaze, and Harris all have the speed where I could see them being put on the outside as a receiver, similar to Gronk and Graham. We could have the best TE stable in the NCAA, have to utilize them.

Would love to see us bring in someone from an NFL offensive staff known for TE usage for some "consulting" during the offseason... We're stacked at the position, but doesn't do us any good if we can't figure out how to use it. Blaze should have been a top target this year, particularly given that Lambert could barely throw it 15 yards...

Some impressive runs in that bunch. Michel has a good combination of size, speed and quickness; just needs an OL that can open a hole for him. Killer as a receiver as well. Had forgotten how effective he was on those screen passes.

I earned a lot of respect for him in the mizzou game. He pounded the ball got some tough yards and kept fighting for the team. He was even hurt during that game but came back out and took care of business. I kept on waiting for him to break a huge run but it never really happened. He earned every yard that night

I think Michel had the best runs of the season, including when Chubb was playing. I know his TD run vs USC was nasty, his long run vs Tenn was one of the best I've seen showcasing the juke and there was one more I can't recall. I'm sure with more games Chubb could of had much better. His highlights are pretty good too.
Our Oline sucked and our QB play was even worse down the stretch, so I'm not sure how Chubb could of done that much better than Michel if he wouldn't of got hurt. In fact, I think both players need each other to preform at their best (duh) as it really doesn't give the defense any break (unlike with Douglas).

Chaney has proven he can use a TE well. See 2014 for best example. Smart told Nauta he was getting the ball a lot. He is the best TE prospect we have signed maybe ever.

Sony was the toughest guy on the team last year. Hope he can keep it up.

Love Sony, love his toughness, but I still think he was badly misused last season. I think he would be at his best in a Reggie Bush type of role and not a 25 carries between the tackles role. Tosses, screens, jet sweeps, even some slot WR. He's so damn good in the open field but it's hard to show it when he doesn't get the ball in the open field.
I understand the Chubb injury forced him into this role, but I would have liked to see Douglas take the between the tackles role and Michel play the role described above.

I feel like Michel doesn't get enough credit for being a runner. He is like 10-15 lbs lighter than Chubb was, which is still plenty big to be a bell cow back in college at 5'11 and 215 lbs.
However, I do think you are right in that Sony wasn't used up to his full potential, but then again I believe that to be the case with our offense as a whole last season. Shotty did us no favors, plus the talent on the Oline and qb really hinders a RB when the opposing teams can focus in on stopping the run while making Lambert beat them in the air (did he ever do this?).

Douglas is horrible. Sony attempting to play both roles is a much better option. Douglas only gets yards when the OL gives him a massive hole, which our OL basically never did last season.
Eta: any situation where Douglas gets more touches than Sony is totally FUBAR

He was given chances and I assume you missed them.

Ok maybe I misspoke a bit. I don't want Douglas ever getting more touches than Michel. I just think getting the most electrifying playmaker the ball in the open field more often than sending him up the gut behind a horrible OL may not have been the worst idea in the world. Sweeps and toss plays would have been much more effective with him, IMO. Maybe send Quayvon battering up the middle some to keep defenses honest.
Fortunately, with a (hopefully) healthy Chubb back in the mix, this won't be an issue going forward.

You have to run him up the middle to create space for him in space. Gotta keep the defense honest with him in the backfield.
The problem with the interior running game was that the OL sucked. Douglas, Hicks, Marshall, etc. weren't going to fix that. Michel making people miss in the backfield was the only hope for a competent running game. I can't explain why the OL regressed so badly, but they were horrible all year as you said.
