So why does every article say 'Pruitt not expected to be retained?'

Are they all just repeating each other?
Has there been any credible source to suggest that Smart wouldn't want to retain Pruitt?
Would Pruitt be slighted that another DC was chosen to be the HC instead of him?
Is the problem solely with the UGA admin due to Pruitt's "personality"?

Because McGarity is pissed at Pruitt and wants him gone. Likely he made it part of the offer. New HC has to hire a new DC. We'll probably get the a-hole Muschump and play like Auburn next year.

Possibly or Pruitt might be taking the vacant DC job at Bama or hell might be taking one of the many HC jobs available.

If that's the sole reason, McGarity should be next on the chopping block.
But if McGarity and others in the inner circle know something more...like maybe Pruitt could be a problem child on ANY staff...that would be a different matter.

All I know is Pruitt was the only assistant coach that truly earned his pay this year. If he goes, it will be a huge mistake (on our part), but at least he had the nuts to speak out on what's been holding us back from taking the next step.

McGarity likely was nodding in approval when he heard about Muschamp's speech when he first took the Florida. Hell, you don't even have to negatively recruit against him. Just play those soundbites for the recruits and say, see, even their own coach doesn't respect that place.

Its a HUGE risk to hire a coordinator (matter of fact most P5 schools don't and its even more rare in the SEC)
AND we're losing our best coordinator and recruiter.

There was serious cultural dysfunction within our program and many indications that Pruitt was gone regardless. What I hadnt heard anything about was Schott leaving before Richt was canceled
I dont think some of you realize how fricking automatic a recruiter Smart is. he's as good as there is. And im not seeing the paramount importance of who specifically the DC is. Smart will get his guy. all this bullshite about him holding Sabans clipboard all this time is about to come to a rest. thats some internet nerd type shite. He's a defensive mind. who he brings on at the other side is what we should be on the edge of our seats over. Im dieing to know what style offense he's been wanting to let fly under his own guard

Big Trent/Ledbetter/Barnett/Rivers/Atkins/Rochester/D. Brown/Clark would be a solid DEEP rotation inside at tackle
Roquan has 4-3 OLB written all over him. Who would play opposite OLB is the question?
