So where can we build a new basketball arena?

Stegeman won't ever be destroyed. And quite frankly, it shouldn't. It's a perfect-sized arena for Gymnastics, Volleyball, and Women's basketball (personally, I wish they'd do like the old days and use it for concerts and rodeos, too).
And yet, it is incredibly outdated and underwhelming for the modern age of college basketball. So, where could we build a new arena? Is South Milledge the only option?

It is a question that must be answered and, hopefully, soon. So our new coach will have serious bling to back up his pitch.

Are they using the old vet school still? Tear that butch down and put it there

The Atlanta sprawl tide should bury Athens in a year or two.... So, why not just wait it out?
And then make an agreement with the Hawks to share their eastern practice facility or something.

Stegeman is so old it had wood heaters built into it originally in 1963 when it was completed... Air Conditioning wasn't even around and it predates Asbestos...

They should move the Georgia Center somewhere else and build it there.

The ideal spot would have been where the classic center is downtown.

Too bad our leaders didn't work that out when it was built.

There's still plenty of space around downtown; would much sooner have a new UGA basketball arena than another luxury student condo complex.
Also, if you haven't gone to the Classic Center to catch a UGA Ice Hockey game then you're missing out. Obviously walkable from/to the bars and restaurants and you can buy beer and quality food at the game. Good time if you're ever in town for a game

Exactly. Why go watch basketball when you can watch icedawgs then go downtown?
