I didn't really think so, but that is what you insinuated. You DID just talk about us being a laughing stock compared to texas after this past week-end, did you not? I think Texas comes closer to being a laughingstock than Georgia.

What is going on at UGA is criminal. If it weren't for Clemson and Texas we'd be the laughing stock of college football. Looking at this weekend both those teams may very well leave us behind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This comes pretty darn close.

Right now we have Clemson known for "Clemsoning" and UT known for underachieving. We're the 3rd kid in the kiddie pool. If UT rights the ship and Clemson (who imo has) then we're all alone. No one to deflect our failures. That is what I meant.

This is the calling card of the Mark Richt supporters. Content with being an 8-win team, and led by a good, christian man. Championships are for losers.

Nobody in history has ever said this. Blows my mind that so many people (georgia "fans" at that) continue to spout this nonsense.

If you are willing to defend richt like you do, there is some level of acceptance of this reality on your part.

You mean 10, right? In 14 complete seasons, he has 136 wins. Right at 10 wins a year. He will probably win 10 this year.

Why is this such an issue with his detractors> I've never seen any of his supporters make this as an issue to keep him...why do his detractors think it is an issue?

The early championship years are long gone. The further away those days get, the lower his winning % gets.

UT is so far from being a power it's laughable. Clemson has righted the ship, you say? Let's see, in their last 4 years, they've won 40 games. Not bad.

Oh wow...UGA has won 40 games as well.

Clemson won the ACC once in 2011, and promptly lost by 37 points in the Orange Bowl to WV.

How does your brain see Clemson's performance over the past few years and think they've righted the ship when we have basically the same output and we are garbage all of a sudden?

They are having a better season than us, for sure. That's as far as it goes.

The comparisons to Texas are just so dumb, they don't even deserve comment.

No, just pointing out that if the plan is to be not elite, we can be not elite with a cheaper coach (and cheaper staff, too). Paying $4 mil a year to be not elite is going a little above market rate.

Also, as I am watching Crowell make a play in the NFL, the sheer amount of talent than UGA has kicked off in the past 10 years due to rules that only this program follows is just staggering. Even just adding up the game suspensions is crazy to think about.
But but Richt runs a clean program. Hell we got one of the worst programs for players getting in trouble or suspended/kicked off. Just b/c Richt is pro christian, doesn't mean we got a bunch of angles on the team. He did recruit J Taylor and that other woman beater DE/LB from Missouri or Indiana.

Who cares about 10 wins? Do you see how he loses and who he loses too? Vandy, Colorado, GT (squib), Miss St, UF (2014), CENTRAL FLORIDA, etc. Richt also gets blown out pretty consistently of 2TD's plus at least 1 a year. We have only won the SEC East 2 times since we last won the SEC (2005). Richt still makes the same bone head mistakes like the 12 men on the field 3 times on Sat and misuse of timeouts and clock management (2012 SEC vs BAMA).

Richt will never get us a NC. Sure he may luck up and win the SEC with a weak West opponent, but he won't win 2 playoff games in a row. That will be 3 big games in a row and yeah he just doesn't have that in him.

I'm glad some fans are satisfied with 9 wins a season with a losing record to rank teams, show up flat in big games, lost to inferior opponents and keep making the same bone head coaching mistakes throughout his career.

UGA has always been a shite program right? So why try to strive for something better?

Dear Lord no one is comparing UGA to Texas. The only thing between us being the worst of UT and Clemson combined is that those programs are sucking with us.

I'd argue Clemson has more big wins than us. My point being- if Clemson is no longer known for "Clemsoning" than who will take their place?

If you like getting stopmed by Bama and blowing 21 point leads to UT then have at it. I'm a bit over it.

Pretty much this. It's like pro Richt guys just ignore the fact he has a horrible record against ranked teams since 2008. And even worse record against top 10 teams.

They just ignore the fact it's been 10+ years since we won the SEC.

But hey guys it'll be okay. We almost beat Bama that one time in 2012.

Richt is our guy!!!!!!

Is your argument that Richt is not as good as Saban? Ok. You win.

That's a given. What I'm trying to figure out is why... Particularly why when Richt has been here for 15 years (presumably long enough to build a consistently strong program), we're still having 5 loss seasons as we did only 2 years ago and crapping the bed against teams we have the talent to beat.

And most of all...why on earth are we paying this guy among the top 10-12 salaries in college football when he hasn't won a conference title in 10 seasons? (And why that seems to be fine with the administration and some donors).

Clemson is 47-11 the past 4 years and so far this year. Uga is 44-16.

I'm not so sure about that...whenever he loses a game, he gets to rationalize it as God's will or part of some higher plan.

Richt has made it clear that God is more important to him than football. That's very admirable and I hope my minister feels that way. But I want my $4 million a year football coach to want to win football games more than anything else.

The Lord helps those who help themselves. Nick Saban seems to be quite a douche- but he works very hard at his craft. The good Lord has rewarded Nick nicely for his efforts.

You've made it clear, very clear you don't like Richt. 9-10 win seasons aren't. good enough...mediocre....every other coaching staff and program is better...we also understand that UGA won't ever win a NC, the SEC, a game against a ranked opponent, or quite possibly another game period. I'm sure I missed some stuff but I think we all get it. Maybe UGA will do us all a favor and just go ahead and shut the athletic department down. On another note, Ive heard there are a bunch of other schools and elite coaches accepting new fans all over the country.

Well it might be the Lord of the Underworld who's rewarding Saban. But the 'Bama fans don't care. And most of us wouldn't care, either, if Richt won three national titles in a span of a few years.
