This is arson.

Don't rule out idiocy. I worked for a chemical company for years - we had all sorts of training about what materials could not be stored together because of the risk of fire/explosion/toxic vapors/etc. if anything happened to leak, yet people would still sometimes store stuff together when it never should have been.

3 people have been arrested for involvement of the fire. One has been charged with felony destruction of property and the other 2 with criminal tresspassing.....

The layman's terms being reported is "pvc pipes"

But it isn't pipes, it is innerduct spools, and it isn't PVC, it is PE.

Polyethylene, much more flammable than PVC.

Google or Century Link or ATT .... those are the big players in fiber optics up and down that stretch of 85. The material belongs to one of those three companies.

... I'd try not to burn down my home. Unless I just stabbed a bitch and wanted to destroy the evidence....

True. But if your a homeless person living under I85 burning shards of plastic tubing to keep warm....you probably aren't the analytical type.

It was in the 70s that day at peak temperatures around 6 PM. Don't think he was trying to stay warm.
