Not necessarily. Every contract is different for every coach.
Plus, Kirby could very well have notified them already but Saban is trying to keep it out of the media to reduce distractions. Team is about to play for a conference title and a playoff spot after all
ETA: No contract that states Saban has to be truthful and forthcoming with the media (hell, he has a reputation for being the total opposite)

IF that were true, then our AD may have seriously screwed the pooch by not having something at least halfway ready to act on once he pulled the trigger on Richt. I mean really....would that information make you feel particularly good given that we KNOW Kirby is one of the top two (if not THE top) targets?

Serious question; doesn't UGA have to list all job openings for 30 days publicly , before they can make a hire?

3 days, but yes. Legally must be posted for 3 days before we can ANNOUNCE a hiring. Kirby could already be in the fold but we can't announce it just yet
