Weren't we supposed to be getting them back this season? If we have I haven't been able to tell... I saw something saying they were alternate pants. When will we see them?

Those dick heads said we were

ESPN article
quote:

One of the bigger differences in the Richt era is that the Bulldogs have worn a variety of styles of silver britches, ranging from the program's traditional shiny look to a more breathable gray material that has no sheen.

For Georgia fans who prefer shiny pants, Dallas Cowboys style, Meshad has some good news.

"Next year, in 2014, we'll finally have the pants back," Meshad said. "The silver britches will be back. This year you'll see a version of them, but they still won't have the sheen and silver that we like until 2014."

I don't understand the holdup. I just watched the Panthers on TV last week. Their pants were definitely silver and are made by Nike.

I don't get it either. I asked someone I knew who worked with the team before the season how they looked. He said they got new shinier ones but he didn't think they were that much different. I wrote this off because the dude knows nothing of Georgia tradition but he was right except I don't think they're any different at all. Just new pants.

I think I read on some other board how they may use them sparingly as an alternate but that's dumb. I don't believe that.

obviously the red and silver is/was classic, but the silver and white combo may have been better imo.

Maybe they could make them a slightly darker shade. Could make it easier to have a noticeable sheen like the Cowboys.

The past two years. I don't think the shade is the problem because I don't think those dicknuts made these with any sheen at all.

Send these back and get actual silver ones. And then get red ones. Then some white ones. Throw back time motherfrickers. Wear white vs UF with the red. Wear red next year at UT.

Never want to see all red. Just away reds.

Although I'd love to see UGA wear all white and a white helmet for shits and giggles.

Welcome Prof. Sorry to hear about your upcoming loss.

But it will feel better when you stomp those Gators

Thanks. I'm under no illusions. I know we could very easily lose this game. I'm happpy we're growing but the only cure for experience is experience. I'm just hoping for an injury free game for both teams and a good fight, although part of me says 'anything's possible' there's no real reason to think we win.

As to those damn gators, let's hope so.

And I agree. I just wish they were actually silver again.

And posting that pic was only half intentional

Painful pic Damn Good Dawg but absolutely wonderful color combo. It's funny but those are the only britches I think of when I think UGA. Absolutely iconic, imo.

That's why I want them to be shiny again. Is it important? Probably not. Actually, no, frick that, it is important. NIKE is killing me.

Yea the shiny ones definitely trump all and I would love to see the red britches in big road games.

I actually think it is important because it's a part of identity and that kinda thing plus traditions make college football the best, imo. The NFL is just soulless to me.

One of the reasons I fear our impending switch to NIKE is I just don't trust them. They're all about product. Adidas worries more about soccer so they're pretty good for major College Teams - tho theree have been some AWFUL basketball unis. We'll see. Hopefully it goes well despite my skepticism.
