Pretty bold statement from a man that's 2-5 against his rival. While we're on the subject, people are overestimating Tech this year. We fumbled the ball twice on the 1 yd line and Clemson didn't have a QB that was healthy to play last year. Let's thank the man for providing some locker room material this early in the year though.

I could have sworn he said these exact things last week. I guess he just refuses to learn.

Yea, he did, the coonass just doesn't look at the board before posting old shite. Guess he's try'n to take over Cobb Dawgs spot for being the most German poster.

It's called redux, mothercricket. And it's French, not German.

That game sucked. Went with to that game with the techies in my family. Didn't speak for a fricking 2 hours. Those fumbles sucked. The INT? Whatever. INTs happen and we definitily we're overdue for one. But those fumbles really were lack of focus. frick those pricks. Going to get our revenge this year (richt is actually pretty good in revenge games)

We are 18-3 vs the ACC since Richt got here beating GT,FSU,Clemson,VT,Louisville so yea the ACC isn't our issue

Are you really offended that CPJ compared you to two teams who have managed to win National Championships since your last NC?
Posted on 7/29/15 at 9:15 am to JacketFan77
the bad thing is Paul doesn't come close to having those type of players. That's what he need to worry about.

Not offended, it wasn't some big insult. However it is worth mentioning that Johnson has a substantially better record against FSU and Clemson than he does against UGA.
Furthermore, his record against SEC teams is atrocious when you remove Vandy and Miss State (the two worst programs in the conference's history). That record is 2-7.
If you add the two cellar dwelling programs the record is still below .500
The numbers simply don't support his hubris.

People in the SEC were sure crowing about Miss State last year, guess it's all relative.
As to CPJ's hubris, I disagree. With few exceptions, he always plays the big boys close. Considering Tech's recruiting disadvantages, I think that speaks well to his ability as a coach. I mean, on paper, UGA should never have to struggle to beat Tech

FIFY. GT's record for losing by more than 14 points in the Mark Richt era is prolific.

He also runs an offense that very very few teams run so it's almost impossible to prepare for. Even when you think you locked up the triple option out of nowhere a FB breaks for a 70 yard run after 10 straight runs on pitches. Alot of guys that are 3 stars that GT gets are still damn fast and D1 caliber players and then you put them into an offense like that and it's hard to stop. The thing that really makes it work is the QB and Justin Thomas runs it better than any QB I can remember for Tech.

It speaks more to the keep away offense that he runs more than anything.

I will definitely concede that Paul Johnson is the best coach in history to lose 75% of his games against UGA.
Of all the coaches that have gone 0-3 at home vs. UGA he's got to be one of the best on that list too.

We were talking about CPJ, in which case only the above apply. of those games, only the 2012 game was a blowout. The rest were hard-fought games, including the last two that were decided in overtime. Again, on paper, it shouldn't be that close. But, most dog fans won't ever admit that Johnson is a good coach. There are a handful on this board who see it.
This year will most likely be another barn burner. It's better for both teams in the grand scheme of things. Having a top-tier OOC opponent every year certainly helps with SOS. This year, we have one of the top-10 toughest schedules of all the P5 teams. UGA, USCe, and UF ALL benefit from their ACC rivalries.
