I'd love to believe that. This is the second best Falcons team of my lifetime behind the Cinderella 1998 team, but damn if I'm not terrified of this game. If Seattle gets their running game going, this could be a much tougher game than it should be. Atlanta is the better team and it's not close, but it's Atlanta in the playoffs.

Got my Matt Ryan jersey on at work today in Cowboys country.

I'm going to be an absolute nervous wreck tomorrow.

I don't follow the falcons very closely...how is this team better than the one a few years back that went to the NFCCG?

The offense is a thing of beauty. Literally every single eligible player on offense can and will score if they are not covered. Ryan set NFL records this year for the number of players he threw TD passes to, along with a few other records I believe. Double team Julio? Please do, someone else will take it to the end zone, likely a player the other team has never heard of before. Everyone on the field is a legit threat to score. So much fun to watch.

The defense is young, very young, but plays mean, fast, and physical. They make mistakes and aren't statistically amazing, but they've come into their own and I think in a year or two have potential to be very very good. Beasley is leading the league in sacks (I think).

I remember the 99 team, the Vick teams that won in the playoffs, and the other Matt Ryan led teams that went to the playoffs, and this is easily the best Falcons team I have ever seen.

Ryan is better than any QB than we've ever had. All do respect to guys like Terrance Mathis, Alge Crumpler, etc but we've never had weapons like this. Freeman/Coleman might not be as good as Jamaal Anderson was back in the day, but they are more versatile, and this offensive line is about as good as the 99 one.

Defensively, we havent put up the stats, but they have gotten much better the past 6 or so weeks, and I have total faith in Beasley, Jones, Neal, Collins, Jarrett, and the rest of the young guys.

Ill even take Matt Bryant over Morten Anderson. He has been phenomenal this year.

Ive never been this excited for a Falcons playoff team.

I also feel like this team is better than the 1998 team. The offense is definitely better stat wise, and we just have so many more explosive players.

The big difference is the defense. What most people forget about the 1998 team as that we had a top 5 defense to go along with the top 5 offense.

However, if our defense continues to improve upon their performance over the last 5 or so games, I believe this team will win the Super Bowl. It's just nerve-racking to think our success will hinge on the play of our defense.

Seattle doesn't scare me much on the road. No pumped in crowd noise or home cooked officiating that allows their DBs to hold / PI on every other play. They have also had some road games over the past month where their OLine has gotten absolutely whipped and they've been unable to get any offense going.

who would the falcons rather play in the next round assuming a win tomorrow?

Cowboys. Packers are insanely hot right now. Cowboys aren't really a scary team, despite their record.

Depends on who wins.

Dallas wins - we play at their house.

Bay wins - we play at our house.

I've wanted to see a Falcons/Cowboys NFCCG since I realized both teams had a legitimate shot to make it. However, Dallas can play ball control and put an insane amount of pressure on the offense to be perfect because they would get fewer possessions.

If it's Green Bay, it would be a shootout. This team can hang with anyone in a shootout.

Beasley does lead the league with 15.5 sacks and is a candidate for DPOY.

The Falcoholic ran a piece about the defense. The 23 ppg given up is horrible, but they broke it down by quarter and saw that they give up an average of 9 ppg in the fourth quarter alone, when many of the games have been way out of reach. The Saints game was a perfect example.
