Who do you pick?

A lot of people want Richt gone, but I fear there isn't shite out there to replace him with. Just curious to see some realistic choices as the next HC of this team.

This is a pointless question. In order for a move to be made, a plan needs to be put in place. That plan requires knowledge of details that no one on this board has access to. For example, what's the budget? What's acceptable to the administration and other stakeholders?

Last year someone could have said we ought to hire Harbaugh. That would have probably been seen as unrealistic. Well guess what - for Michigan it wasn't unrealistic.

Bottom line: it's on McGarity to have a plan together and decide when to move. Nobody on this board can put that plan together, and we really have no idea what would even go into that sort of planning process. But, choosing to stick with the status quo because of fear is never going to get us where we want to be.

Has Ears made any splash hires? Stricklin was at the time but that is starting to fade. Am I forgetting anyone?

I like the Ohio State OC who is a head coach at Houston now but it's kinda pointless Richt isn't getting fired. But the argument we can't find anyone isn't valid to me. There are plenty of good coaches out there. But like someone else mentioned I don't put much faith in our administration making that great hire

Not gonna happen and I'm not in favor of it but if you want an outstanding X and O's guy I would look at Kyle Shanahan. From what I understand though he is the current "hot"NFL asst and will be a NFL HC probably next year.

Would be the best hire we could make. He is a great candidate but frankly the pool is pretty sparse beyond that.

I always suggest Patty Fitz but he is going to retire in Evanston. Hudspeth has been on the tip of everyones tongue for so long that his allure is fading for me considering he hasn't been hired yet. The Temple coach is moving up in the world. Memphis' coach, I think Fuente?

Hell, we should root for Texas to lose their marbles and fire Charlie. Then scoop in and nab him. But, as it was said, it doesn't matter because Mark is here and will always be here. A program that is dead may never die.

Herman would be a good choice in a couple of years. I'd rather let him get some experience at Houston for a couple of years before bringing him in. But that's who I would want.

Problem is that he will be hired. This would get us on the ground floor but, hey, it is what it is

I'd say Meyer or Saban...and if not one of them Harbaugh. After all the OP is a question about fantasy land so why not fantasize about us hiring a proven coach.

Unless Mike Bobo screws the pooch at CSU he is going to be our next head coach. He is doing a pretty good job of getting the pooch lathered up prior to penetration so he may not make it but if he does we will hire him the minute that Rich announces his retirement at the end of the 2020 season, an announcement that will inspire the team to go out and beat the shite out of Nebraska in the Music City Bowl after an incredible season of 8-4 and only one blow out loss and three close ones we could have won if only (fill in the blank).

Actually though I am wrong about that....that scenario would mean that actions Richt took inspired the team to be better.....why would that happen in his last game when it hadn't happened in his first 20 years worth of games???

Pay Daniel Tosh to bang Saban's daughter
Blame it on Lane Kiffin
Saban leaves Bama
Pay Saban all the money

But for us it would have been unrealistic. Harbaugh is a Michigan guy. That was the only college he was going back to to.

Those are both realistic and would be at the top of our list, IMO.

Because the premise of your thread is asinine, so you deserve an asinine response.

Right, has nothing to do with the $7 mil they are paying him.
