worth of improvements.
The Georgia football program brought home the bacon, which means renovations will be taking place. With the cash flow that just came in, Sanford Stadium will see an upgrade for the first time since 2004.
According to Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Georgia's overall revenue increased a cool $3.6 million from last year. Majority of that money comes from football tickets being sold, as the $21.2 million made last year was much greater than the $19.5 made in 2012. Contributions also increased from $22.5 million to $23.3 million.
See what happens when you put a quality product on the field?
Out of the money earned, $1.25 million will be used to improve Sanford Stadium. Some of these upgrades will include modernize premium seating areas, adding a closed caption display board for the hearing impaired and ticket scanning capabilities.
It gets even better, as the $1.25 million is only part of the $2.18 million that has been approved to use for renovation projects.
According to the report, $330,000 will be used to expand the Stegeman Coliseum athletic training room. Another $300,000 will be dumped for study and designs to upgrade turf fields and to replace block wall between Woodruff Practice Fields and Smith Street. There will also be improvements to the equestrian facility thanks to $130,000.
The tennis courts will be resurfaced with the help of $80,000 and the soccer and softball complex will have its electrical issues fixed once the school spends $90,000.
The Jason Aldean Concert at Sanford Stadium also brought in an insane $200,000 for the athletic department, which will now be used to install a new irrigation system for the field.
All Georgia sees are dollar signs.
With the help of $8 million in 2004, Sanford Stadium was able to add a second upper deck on the north side and 27 new north side SkySuites, making the venue the fifth largest on-campus stadium in the country at a little more than 92,000 seats.
These improvements were well earned from a football team that won at least 12 games last year for the first time since 2002.

From yesterday's ABH...Indoor practice facility `not a priority right now’

“Indoor practice, I get it,” McGarity said. “The indoor practice facility is used for I think the best case scenario is when you have lightning. We do have an area where we can go and as we know it’s a summer, early fall instance here. So we have a place to go, but we can go right back out on those two full practice fields of turf and not miss a beat. If we didn’t have those fields down there, yes, I can see where practicing on the grass, you would tear grass up, but in the last three years, yeah, we’ve had some days where you can go inside, but those you can count them on two hands. That’s an investment that’s probably in the neighborhood of 20 million dollars. I’m not so sure that’s something is a wise expense at this time. It’s something that was not a priority several years ago and it’s really not a priority right now.”
Richt wants it... McGarity says FU...

The Tech deck was added in 2003. Honestly surprised it didn't cost a little more than 8 Million.
Glad we have it, 93K is pretty much a perfect spot for our stadium capacity right now.

Imma not real proud of the $ I have to shell out every year to park at the BB&T at Broad & N. Thomas so my son & grandson can park & use my tix for the 4-5 games I don't attend each year...
Parking is at such a premium I can't afford to tell Jonathan at Prestige Parking to kiss my arse....

I would have parked you at my house half a mile away for 20 bucks last year.

They need to fix the bathrooms. 4 stalls for 45,000 bitches. I don't think so.

They need to expand the 300 level concourse so it is actually maneuverable.
