Saban is getting up there, I'm sure he did not think he would lose Sark.

I say we go after Tosh Lupoi, he's the top recruiter in the land and a damn good coach, it's time to flip the switch

Ya it will be easy to get such a great recruiter and coach away from Nick Saban. It went well when we went after Cochran when Kirby took the reigns.

Anything we have to offer, Bama can match.
Bama is a better football program then UGA is.
Saban is one of the greatest Football coaches of all time.
The school basically recruits itself.

While it can happen, odds are slim to none. Lets concentrate on candidates which are possible.

Lupoi was supposed to be in play for one of the jobs out west - Position coach at Oregon or something similar. I don't think he's as off the table as folks might suspect. It's difficult to choose between who to try and weaken as we could get stronger by the hire. Undermining Florida makes it easier to get to the SECCG, but likely have to face Bama. Sabotage Bama for the SECCG, but have to beat the Gators on our own merits (which hasn't come easily in the last number of years).

A bit different situations.

Cochran started at bama in 2007, he's been there a long arse time. It was stated that one of the main reasons he stayed is because of the state's retirement system, to where he only needed to stay a few more years to be fully vested and draw something like an $80K retirement the rest of his life even if he never worked another day. Tosh first became a full time coach at bama in 2015, so that entire situation is a non-factor in this case.

And while all that is true, amazingly we have gone head to head, 1 on 1, with bama for several recruits in the last 5 years and gotten them.

Keep in mind I'm not saying we're getting tosh, although I'd be through the roof if we did because that guy is an ELITE recruiter. I'm just saying it's not the end all be all. The only reason we didn't get Kirby as our DC in 2013 is because saban drilled it in his head that richt may not be there very long and it might not be very stable. Saban damn sure can't say that about UGA these days.

Actually, I'm guessing he hoped Sark could execute a winning game-plan vs Clemson but did not count on a controversial coach to be with him long term. I have no doubt that Saban will find a competent replacement.

I believe sark was only a "Co-OC" anyway. So even if they don't hire anyone else (which they will) they still already have an OC on staff. They'll be fine.

All I am saying is if Saban wants to keep Tosh, then Tosh cannot be swayed to the good guys. With him being one of their Ace recruiters combined with the product seen on the field, I have a feeling Saban is gonna fight for him.

Hence me saying while possible, we should not assume at this point that its feasible.

I'm pretty sure their system is much like our Teacher's Retirement System for USG employees and, if so, he's vested in year 10 (this year).

I think Saban is going to turn 68 this yr and the word is his Mercedes dealerships are becoming more importantant to him. That said he is only 2 away from passing the Bear, I would love for him to retire but he wants that record. I think it would eat him up if he did not pass Bryant, he would probably come out of retirement at 85 yrs young to go after it, Seriously if he did not pass the Bear it would give him nightmares the rest of his days. Win or lose the Natty he goes back to work the next morning with the same fire. No vacations or any time off, i do respect it but i feel for his wife.
