Running to the edge

It's probably been covered ad nauseum somewhere, but why are we trying to run up the middle on every run play? Yesterday, we went outside early on and got 12 yards, right off the bat. Pretty much all other times, we try to run up the middle with little success. Can't figure out what the thought process is there.

Nobody will want to hear this, but given our lack of talent on the OL, our immense talent in the backfield, and our ability to throw downfield every once in a while, we should really just make our worthless OL learn to cut block like Tech and run the option for the rest of the year.
Seriously, though, I'm hoping Kirby and Co have realized that what he wants to do with this team is not the same as what he can do. I hope for our sake that he has made a decision this weekend: either adapt to what you have so you can win now or start making changes so that the non-seniors on the team can get a jumpstart on what is going to be a hellacious offseason of training and learning.
I don't think there's necessarily a right or wrong answer there but he is going to have to make a decision and stick with it

Exactly this. we do not have the talent that Alabama has right now. Hopefully one day, but not right now.

Channey is just setting up UT...he knew we could beat Mizz, knew Ole Miss was a loss cause we had a Dback that can't cover....he's been saving the Oline and Our backs for the heart of our East schedule.....either that or our Arky bothers were right when they said Channey was an obese pile of shite
