Now old man Musberger saying Richt might just retire

The coaching carousel is spinning out of control. "I wouldn't be surprised if he stepped away, retired." - Brent Musburger on Mark Richt

Seeing all of this cash being thrown about by LSU and others has pushed me a bit toward wanting to keep Richt (bletch!) for another year.
Et tu, HRD?

Yep. Two of the top 7 jobs are open right now. That's a tough year to look for a coach, especially when considering the consequences.

Sorry, man. I want him gone, but I want him gone to bring someone in that we feel is an upgrade. It may turn out bad, but at least it isn't throwing shite against the wall and seeing what sticks.
If we have a solid plan...do it. If not...don't.
I don't want to be scrambling, a la UF after Spurrier left, and it's starting to feel as if we would be...

Or maybe I'm just a yellow bitch.
Ha!
Ha!

I just don't think the carousel of coaches will replenish itself and we have to fight now. I also think that we are basically delaying the inevitable. How can we finish this recruiting cycle, let alone recruit 2017, now? If he stays we and every kid will know that richt won't be there at the end of their eligibility. I think we've crossed a line and it's time to get bloodied up in this chaotic coaching bonanza.
Because richt isn't fixing this

And I don't disagree with any of this. Look...I'm on the Nyquil. Maybe I ought to wait until I detox before I comment further...

Haha. I'm just so ready for change, man. We give this guy another out we may never get rid of him and folks like you and me have waited long enough for his removal.

...and knee high! There's a small pocket of folks who have been you know what I mean

All I'm saying is that if we fire Richt, and we wind up with another snoozer, I may kick my dog.
I don't hate Richt. I think hes overstayed his usefulness.

I don't think we've crossed it yet, but we're as close as we've ever been. My issue is that, right now, we don't have a viable option at QB. Or a solid OL. Or a solid DL. We can go a long way towards fixing all of that (and doing so in spades) with this class. Blow it up now and you're leaving an even bigger rebuild job for the next guy (nevermind the fact that our AD and boosters have done NOTHING to inspire confidence in me that we get the right guy)

If we fire Richt, McGarity has got to pony up the cash to get a top hire. That concerns me the most right now

You know, the Georgia Way would be to nag and threaten the guy to the point that, rather than actually make good on the threat ourselves, he just says frick it an retires.

Y'all recruiting gurus know better than me but is this class not stalling with all that has happened?
Posted on 11/27/15 at 5:23 pm to Damn Good Dawg
We just picked up one of the Top 5 running backs in the country yesterday out of Texas and are now flirting heavily with possibly having the #1 overall class

Georgia has to "Pony Up"... IF they want to COMPETE... then they will do it. I don't know why this is difficult for some of you guys. Times CHANGE... Prices go up. frick man... UGA can afford a 8 million dollar a year coach. UGA is one of the most profitable programs in the country and has been for years.

...eh, I'll risk it for a new guy. This will just turn into "let richt use this class before we judge"
I'm willing to watch the program sputter for a minute to get a proper HC. Otherwise it's just same shite, different day
