Perhaps once you're out of living in your momma's basement you'll be able to afford something nice. Keep saving those pennies, junior.

This would be such a mistake at this point. Unless you have a slam dunk in your pocket already (we may but I have about 5% confidence in that being the case), you are basically looking at blowing everything up after an 8-9 win season and with what might be the country's #1 recruiting class (and the best ever at UGA) waiting in the wings. I know you don't keep a bad coach to save recruits, but holy shite he's not a BAD coach and this isn't just one or two recruits.

But typical UGA; can't even fire our coaches properly

The crazy thing is, this entire post applies to LSU. #1 recruiting class, good coach. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to their current class.

Nope,no coordinators period.Proven HC or no dice. The last coordinator hire to lead his team to an SEC title was in facr CMR.

Don't care how long Kriby has been with Bama or how successful he's been. There's still a learning curve for anyone who's never been a HC before and there's no time for any OTJ training ESPECIALLY if this recruiting class gets blown up.

Difference is that their boosters are just crazy and rich enough to actually land a guy like Jimbo. There's actually a scenario in which this horrendously ballsy move on their part works out and works out well.

I just don't see us coming out on a positive end if we get rid of Richt this year. I think you need to let the coaching bonanza die down and see who is available in 2016 when things aren't as heated and the talent on this team is in a much better situation than it is now. We need to make a change, no doubt, but it doesn't seem like there's a candidate out there that is the obvious answer. There may not be next year, either, but at least we'd be well stocked in talent

Who would be a slam dunk hire for us? I'm thinking, but nothing Pops up, realistically, given that we wouldn't open up the checkbook. Certainly, we can bring in someone as good as Richt, but we will have recruit problems because of it...

I'd like to think that UGA HC has enough cache to pull a Tom Herman. I don't know that our AD is smart/savvy/lucky enough to pull him into the boat, though.

Durden, I have huge respect for you, but I think you are wrong. Richt is an above average coach in 2015. GA plays three cream puffs, Vandy, Kentucky and GT every year = 4 to 6 wins every year; SC, Missouri, FL, AU and UT = 2-5 wins every year; and SEC West = 0-1 wins every year. I don't see GA realistically winning less than 6 games with a coach with a pulse. Winning 8 games with this schedule is merely average to above average. Richt with his original staff and Donnan's recruits was a very good coach. The decline with a few exceptions is well documented.

There are only two possibilities.

1) Mark Richt stays.

2) McGarity hires a clown who will kiss his arse.

I hope McGarity and Schotty get canned and Richt gets one more chance. Kirby Smart as HC would be dumb.

There's gonna be a bidding war for him, and its already started with Houston offering 3+ mil to keep him.

Not sure if that would play in our favor, given our scroogieness....

Both give me nightmares. I want Richt gone. Have for a decade (frick all of y'all). But, I can see McGarity pulling some shite. I would hope that he wouldn't, but I could see it.

Seeing all of this cash being thrown about by LSU and others has pushed me a bit toward wanting to keep Richt (bletch!) for another year. The more expensive the market, the less well we do, I think, given our cheapness, and the LAST thing that I would advocate would be firing Richt without a solid plan of succession in place, and money flying around makes the soundness of assurances questionable at best.

The bottom line is Mark Richt hired Brian Schottenheimer, that alone should be enough to get him fired.

No way in hell Kirby Smart ever makes a stupid hire like that.

Exactly... You NEVER hire a coordinator as a HC when you are the University of Georgia. Shitty should get you fired... It's time... Shed your last skin Richt... Move on. Thanks!
