Rumors Abound

There've been rumors on multiple pay sites swirling that appear to be more than just mindless rabble. Rusty even started a thread to address them saying he doesn't know anything but he imagines if someone is let go, it would be mid day on Sunday.
The rumors are coming from guys who have spoken to multiple boosters who have said that Richt is out and that there is a replacement in mind. That's been the only consistent "info" so far.
I mean, obviously take everything with a grain of salt but it's something to think about.

I have been an avid Richt supporter. And I still love everything he stands for. However, I have been doing some reading, research, and looking at some stats. As long as it doesn't kill our recruiting, I am now in support of a change this year or next, so long as we have a top-notch candidate in the loop. I don't want to take our third choice, or some coordinator somewhere who is unproven.

That exact language shows up when you google Kirby Smart.

So IF, IF IF any of this turns out to be true, does this mean the CMR's recruiting trips to Eason (and Rochester?) were to let them know the they need to be committed to the school and not the coach, or was it to tell them he's not going anywhere, and will turn out to have been in error of those assurances?

Kirby is unproven, but he's been in a winning program long enough to know what it takes.

We may never really know but I imagine we'll have a pretty good idea after this all shakes out

I'd be ok with Kirby frankly. Not completely enamored but I'd be happy. Especially if he hires some grade A assistants and brings Cochran

My problem with anyone they bring is are we going to continue the same ole bullshite if just being a fundraiser or are we going to take the Bama approach and spend some program changing money.

Gary Patterson would be my choice.

Did everyone forget that Kirby burned his UGA bridge when he played us back when we fired Willie?

Nope,no coordinators period.Proven HC or no dice. The last coordinator hire to lead his team to an SEC title was in facr CMR.
Don't care how long Kriby has been with Bama or how successful he's been. There's still a learning curve for anyone who's never been a HC before and there's no time for any OTJ training ESPECIALLY if this recruiting class gets blown up.

He's the best frickin recruiter in the SE. I've read he went to a top recruit we both are after before our game with Bama and told them he had our easily defeatable Offense figured out and no way Bama would lose.

You give me 30 "special asst's" and I think I could be a top 10 "recruiter" in the SEC.
