Most people don't care about what crap bowl a team played in 1987, but they can recant where they were when Lyndsay streaked down the sidelines preserving a shot at the title.

Championships are greatness in an otherwise ordinary life. They build statues over greatness and it is creates real legacy.

Good truly is the enemy of great! Richt was never good at manufacturing his own luck, that is why Saban and Meyer have accomplished so much more... Ironically, Schnellenberger and Bowden understood this.

That said, the acc is likely a good fit, play even more games that you have all ready won before kickoff, giving the staff and players more time for the big games.

Can't disagree.

I'm glad he gave us one last quote to seal the deal.

Gotta hand it to CMR - at least he's consistent. It hearkens back to multiple posts I made back in October about Richt not being able to overcome the backup QB mentality.

Hell, even Bobby Bowden, his former boss when asked if Richt would succeed, said he worried that Mark "wasn't tough enough" for the job.

And if you want to, you can sell your 2002 SEC Championship ring on eBay! Just ask Fred Gibson.

Then buy it back from a pawn shop 20 years later.

Before that quote I was unsure if we made the right move.

Now I'm certain we did.

The more I think about it, the madder I get. That was a total dig at the people in Bulldog Nation that have higher expectations.

Where were you when Alec Ogletree ran that blocked kick back for a TD and you thought to yourself holy-shite-this-is-happening?

It was like that moment in Rocky IV where Drago actually starts to bleed......

He's not a machine, he's a man!

Saban bleeds, oh yes. But can he die?
