Well shite.

You'd think that after being pushed around by Nichols State last year that conditioning would be a prime concern.

Relax. You know a scrimmage is a practice so it's going to be harder than a game. We will be fine

Crazy to think that some guys could have a little trouble dealing with the heat during the first full pad scrimmage of camp, especially when you consider that the scrimmage took place in the early afternoon of a hot August day. Just bizarre.

Most all of the reports stated that it was the heat and humidity. We've had very mild weather since the start of fall camp and that was probably the hottest and muggiest day they've experienced in full pads. You can run sprints all day long, but when you start popping the pads, there's still going to be an adjustment period.

This. And our first few games are night games where the heat will be even less of a factor.

But acclimation takes awhile . I mean Wilson is from up North. You know he's hurting lol

This is even more true now that coaches can't put they're teams through as much contact preseason. I think it's why early season injuries have become more common, especially on the high school level.

You have to get conditioned for hitting just like you have to get conditioned for running.

Just to be clear... we are all good with this now? No need to fire the S&C coach ?

Yep, never had so much as a cramp before the IPF. Burn it down.

If you burn the IACPB down, how will players run on treadmills with scuba masks and sit in cryogenic deepe fereeze huts? Instead of getting used to the heat?

We'll worry about that later, when plotting second-degree arson there's really no time to ponder consequences.

Someone should post scrimmage stats. I've worked all weekend, couldn't follow stuff. I come here for UGA football info. I feel let down so far.

You think Kirby is going to release stats?

Also, why doesn't the team do conditioning drills in pads during the summer workouts?

Because Kirby is dumb and doesn't know how a football team works?

He should at least release fake stats.

I was under the impression that it was SOP on the rant to call for the S&C coach's head and blame the HC when there was an indication that players were showing any signs of being tired. Has this changed?

Now yall know Kirby comes for Bama, and I promise he using every technique that the dark lord employed at Bama.

That means no water breaks until somebody feints and then only 1 every 3 hours after.

Oh and that IPF? Ya they turn on the fricking heater. ITs 135 degrees in there. Its like playing football in an oven.

Because the NCAA has rules governing when players can and can't be in pads, just like every other level of football.

Eason continues to struggle with accuracy. The sophomore quarterback looked very good in warmups but missed some open receivers deep during the scrimmage

This from Dawgnation today re: the scrimmage.

Dammit Eason time to get your shite together.
