Maybe I'm just as dumb as the rest of the grunts I live with, and cannot appreciate the cosmic foresight of some of the people on this board, but can someone explain why there were 50 people who "know an insider" and could "confirm with certainty" as to who our new OC would be, and none of them were correct? Same applies to recruiting.
I'm being flip, but if there is a serious reason that I am just too fricking dumb to understand, please educate me. I love to learns.

A source "very close to the top" tells me it's because they know they have moles, and they purposefully pump out misinformation prior to announcement.

It's hard to believe that managers could be that stupid and paranoid. More likely that several candidates turned down the job. We know of one who was contractually unable to move.
