Ok. Actually barbecue is more often the spelling in print and has an older origin. Barbeque is an extended abortion of the acceptable abbreviations of Bar-b-q or BBQ. Where the phonemic sound of the letter represents the "cue".

It would be akin to taking the Xmas abbreviation for Christmas and start spelling it Xhristmas.

However the Barbeque has been reproduced enough to make it acceptable for most.

You googled that shite, just like Squatch did.

It's barbeque in this state. Sorry.

I never really thought about it much and did need to do a little research as I never really paid any attention to the spelling. I refer to what I consider to be the high water mark of barbecue in my experience.

Exhibit 1

But then I have to defer to Heavy....God rest his soul...

In honor of Heavy I have to admit I was wrong and you will not hear from me again on this matter. Amen and Go Dawgs.

Which was once probably just a shack selling righteous bbq......

...until, one day, a yankee transplant from the ajc wondered why there was a line out the door of some little shack called "Harolds"..

.. and so he wrote an article about it, called "Harold's Barbecue" . And the name stuck. And they made a sign. I bet their hash sucks. frick atlanta

Thread jack - Mrs Vox and I are headed to Stone Mountain today to the BGE Eggtoberfest. It's over at 3, so we can jump all over other Eggheads' righteous BBQ , etc in lieu of tailgating and still catch the game on the DVR in plenty of time to zip through commercials and be live for the 2nd quarter.

Anybody else going?

Blasphemy!

Holy shite Harold's was legendary and their hash was the GOAT. I think theyre closed now but Harold's was old 1970's Fairgrounds, Fulton County Stadium and Cyclorama Atlanta.

It saddens me there are some out there that will not know this place.

Interestingly the name "Cue" is available for use for bulldogs, however "Que" has already been used 4 times already, so if you requested "Que" the AKC would assign your bulldog the name "Que"

I don't know the typical nomenclature that the Seilers use for their dogs, but it would be very rare for a big time breeder to be using such short AKC names anyway
