Seth article that you may have seen. Looks like the race is thinning out a little?

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed.

But I still say Bauta is the man.

He may not be the starter, but he will be the finisher.

Interesting video. Ramsey certainly seemed a bit slower than Lambert for most of the reps. I don't know if that actually matters one iota, but I think it's interesting never the less. Ramsey certainly seemed more comfortable handling the ball off, and lambert was helping put Marshall in the right place. Good stuff for both.

I think this is what most expected...with the stable of backs we have we need a true passers in the backfield which unfortunately leaves Bauta in 3rd...

I think Ramsey starts but Lambert will play too on Sat

My concern is having looked at Lambert's stats from last year and the number of picks. He threw at least one pick in each game and 2 in almost half of them. That will def get us beat. Obviously he didn't have the luxury of "pick-a-back-any-back" to hand off to, but we need at least a play action passing game to keep the box (LBs) honest.

*Almost every game.I think there were 2 games he didn't throw a pick in.

While part of that is due to bad decision making, UVA had a horrible offensive line and not much talent at the skill positions. That program is a dumpster fire and I find it hard to believe that any QB could put up great statistics with that roster around him.

Point taken. I also don't think we need to force the ball vertically down the field as much as just having an effective play action passing game. Higher percentage passes to the TEs, that type of thing. I do like his size, intelligence, and game experience. Either starter is going to have not only the game pressure but the pressure of the other guy standing next to CMR with his chinstrap buckled.

If it really is down to just these two. My gut says Lambert is the guy....

I think he'll start against ULM with Ramsey also getting snaps for one last shot to either confirm or disprove the doubt about him inside Richt and Squat's minds.

What you are saying here is that UGA's team will make Lambert better.

Coach Richt and I aren't looking for a quarterback we can make better. We are looking for a quarterback that can make us better.

That man is Bauta.

To the original point, coaches play all sorts of mind games with players in practice. You can't read anything into who was with the ones or twos on any given day, unless it's a pattern. In this case, the pattern in the article is that this is the second time... that the media has been allowed to watch.... that Bauta was with the 3's.

Twice isn't a pattern. Bauta could have had a fricked up thumb on one of those days. Or Shotty wanted a closer look at how McGillicutty's snap to Lamby was progressing. Or maybe they are trying to mindfrick Bauta to make him mad and more aggressive. Or maybe Lambert was whining and bitching about maybe leaving, so for depth purposes they are dangling the starting job closer to him for the time being. Who the hell knows.

Take it from people in the know like me.

Bauta is the man.

Hopefully Lambert wasn't trying to take snaps from a guard.

Obviously I meant Pyke, but it's good to know yall are hanging on my every word looking for a meaningless frickup. It's what makes the world go round.

Bauta will be the one who produces the best ball security. High percentage passes combined with the conference's best run game and Pruitt's defense is the right formula. In hot and humid weather long grinding scoring drives are better than quick strikes in two ways. The quick strike game is risky and it doesn't wear down the opponent's defense.

It doesn't fricking matter. If Shotty wants to see Lambert taking snaps from Quincy Mauger, it doesn't mean Bauta is going to be 3rd string.

I absolutely agree with the points Whiz makes. Forget wide open spread offenses (especially considering our personnel). I believe that defenses still win championships and we've got a good one. Ball control on O to keep D resting. We have more than one back and a solid Oline to accomplish this. Wear the opposing D out with the run game and all we need is a serviceable play action passing game to keep them honest. If Bauta is that guy I'm all for it.
