Valid points, but folks are getting tired of his boss going all "Aw shucks" after huge faceplants on national TV.

Pruitt says in the 4 day old article that the players were too emotional....And your thoughts on it are that Richt isn't emotional enough afterwards?

I don't understand.

It could be that the longest-serving SEC coach could, oh,I don't know, maybe manage, focus, and direct the team's emotion like he had experience with it, or something.

You know, just for the lulz, if nothing else.

In my mind, the "HC-As-CEO" paradigm works by the Head Coach having his players ready not only to perform consistently, but in spite of a gigantic microscope on the team in giant games.

Even after 15 years, I don't see that as a skill Richt has developed.

Well we won pre-game warm ups with that stupid emotional shite on the sideline when Bama ran out. Saban kept Bama's head on straight through all that and they fricked us up like a we ran into a buzzsaw.

"“The whole time we coached them -- the whole game, we weren’t worried about the score. ”"

I think I have discovered the problem....the defensive coordinator isn't worried about the score...just play like we play and everything will be hunky dorey.

Pruitt is going to prove to be a bust. In 3 more seasons he will be as hated as Todd Grantham and Willie Martinez. The level of talent where he is now is never going to be as good as where he was....

No...it says that he knows we arent there yet, and he is still teaching regardless of the score. Jesus.

Don't know if I'd go that far, but he is overrated as frick, IMO

And his fan boys are the worst. As if he's secretly pulling all the strings now for anything perceived as something positive within the program.

I'm fence sitting on this one (as if it matters). I just don't know how you blame the defense when your offense goes 3 and out the whole fricking game.

I thought we were going to run the fullback against Alabama somewhat on close yard situations did we?

The defense only gave up 24 points the entire games. That was a great job considering the amount of time they were on the field.

Not when you consider that Saban took his foot off the gas in the third quarter out of mercy.

Bama vs UGA is like Apollo Creed vs Drago in Rocky IV. We're all glitz, bands, black jerseys and hype videos...and they're a damn fighting machine.

I don't what, if anything, Richt could do from a motivational standpoint to consistently beat Saban. His approach is so different from ours. It's "beat them till they quit" vs " play with heart".

I like Richt...and I like the GA way. I think we match up well with most teams and will throughout the year....but the Saban and Meyer's of the world are too damn good at what they do. Barring all the stars aligning I just don't know what can be done other than to keep building and moving forward.

They were the same way about Grantham. He was gonna save the program and turn us into Bama east....dude can't coach his way out of wet sack. Pruitt will be the same in a few years when he takes a HC gig somewhere...he will be the lousiest human being ever to shite between a pair of Nikes.

The problem we have is one of talent. Yes, we get some very talented players....but we don't get quite enough....and they are never here at the same time. If we are such a talented football team how is it that Lambert is our QB? If it has happened at such a visible position does anyone have any doubt that less visible positions are similar?

Football is a very close contest. I don't have to be twice as fast as you to out run you...all I need is a micro step.....and over the course of 60 minutes you gonna get schooled. We are just like the rest of the CFB world when they whine about the talking heads saying the SEC is the best conference in CFB (by the way they aren't talking about us and Vandy and South Carolina and Kentucky...they are usually talking about Alabama and LSU and sometime AUburn). The difference between Alabama and Wisconsin, for instance, is not one of night and day...it is merely a micro second of speed here and a miniscule amount of muscle there....and over the course of 60 minutes it becomes as stark as night and day.

When you throw in a lack or quality coaching at every level our less talented players get beat like rented mules when they play a real football team. It is as simple as that....

You can have a talented team without every position on the field being elite

false. Our defense had gotten so bad under CWM that fans were looking for any sort of change. '10 our defense was subpar, but hey it's year 1 so give him a pass. '11 it actually improved a bit so everyone was happy. 12 had NFL defenders littered all over the place but grantham almost singlehandedly lost us the SECCG with his refusal to sub on the DL. And, and this absolutely cannot be repeated enough, '13 was statistcially teh worst defense we've ever had in school history. We gave up 30 points in EIGHT games. By comparison, BVG game up 30 points one time in 4 years.

If you can C&P for me ONE person who ever said that, I'll eat my hat.

Is there anything we can do about that RIGHT THIS MINUTE? No. So waht can we do? Recruit better, duh. Guess what? We are. Look at the defense talent we're stockpiling now compared to 2 or 3 years ago. What else do you want aside from the #1 recruiting class every year like bama? We're improving, which is all you can ask for really.

Dumbass quesiton doesn't even deserve a real response.

Not sure if you know this or not, but alabama has a top 2 recruiting class for 7 of the last 8 years, so there isn't one single team in the country that has "more talented" players. As far as coaching, they have one of the 5 or 6 best coaches in the ~80 year history of the SEC, and the best coach in america over the last decade. Sorry our coach can't measure up to that.

People like you are so shortsighted. We aren't bama. We never have been and only on very rare occasions will be measure up to them for any extended time period. As of right now, they are in the middle of a bonafide, legit, honest to God dynasty, one of teh best in CFB history (not sec history, cfb history). So yeah, we aren't as good as them. To say that we're awful and we should fire everyone and our team has no talent because we aren't as good as them is just incredibly naive.

We lacked the depth required to sub and it wouldn't have mattered anyways as that Bama OL was loaded.
