he said he told the players to get a penalty for celebrating
Yes, that's right moron. He told the 11 players on teh field to celebrate. And if your dumbass will go back and watch the video, you'll see right after we score Knowshon and one of the OL do a picture taking gesture. They were doing a "planned" celebration that would be deemed excessive. They, nor richt, nor anyone else knew the bench was going to clear.

What do you expect the players to do to get a penalty?
Already addressed

He was trying to muster up some kind of fight into our team, which again he admits to this.
And?

This is where Richt is wrong, he shouldn't have to come up w/ gimmick stuff to motivate the team.
I'm ok with it in THAT ONE INSTANCE considering the history of the game that point. And UF scored on their next drive to make it 7-7 so it's not like that one thing made much of a difference...we still had to beat them the other 50+ minutes which we did because we were better.
Since the very first week you ever joined the site you've done nothing but talk shite about richt and UGA. You're a waste of good bandwith and if it was up to me you'd be gone by now.

Richt's teams are always undisciplined and when they meet Alabama the contrast is obvious to all.

Oh yeah? Tell me about the '12, '07, '03, and '02 contrasts between us and alabama?
We lost yesterday, in 12, and 08 because alabama was a better football team; nothing more, nothing less. We beat them in 07, 02, and 03 becuase we were the better team; nothing more, nothing less.
You thinking any of the 6 games Richt has coached against bama have been decided on discipline just shows how fricking stupid you are, which we all knew already anyway.

Far be it from me to get in the middle of this pissing contest, but I think the central theme here is misplaced energy. When I saw the shenanigans before the game it *immediately* reminded me of the way the team was acting prior to 2008. Overhyped, overenergized, not focused on the task at hand: executing a gameplan
I'll leave my criticism of the actual offensive gameplan out of this as I think we can all agree it made no effing sense.
It's more than just discipline, it's channeling energy and focusing on the task at hand. You mention them being better than us, but I think it's more than just better players. The first quarter was enough to show that while we were outclassed, we could "hang tight". The difference is in how the players were prepared, how focused they were on executing. Even after a turnover early, they put on their big boy pants and got to work. Same thing after a tough penalty in the redzone... There are few if any real examples where this is in the DNA of Richt coached teams in big games.
Despite them being better than us, I think even you can agree we should not have gotten blown out like that at home. The team lost composure, again a focus issue. Lambert never looked remotely comfortable, focus.
We're in a shitty spot because firing Richt leads us down the UT path, but continuing to accept what we saw yesterday before the game and expecting different results is back to the old definition of insanity.

I feel like that has been our conundrum for a while. Thing is, he never makes it easy because Richt will still get this team to 9-3, 10-2, and then either get waxed in ATL and then play a meh bowl game or just play a meh bowl game. Not enough to give you hope but enough to not really have an alternative.
Still, like to think the Pruitt effect will saturate more over time

Tell the boosters to start handing out *a lot* more cash, then.

It might; however, that is not guaranteed. That said, the school will stick with its "good enough is good enough" philosophy, which suits Richt to a T.

All will be forgotten next Saturday when Tennessee gets destroyed

Spot on DGD. In fact I'm almost positive that if I hunted through our threads, there is probably a conversation with this exact line of commentary from a few years ago.
I *want* to believe in Pruitt, but that defense that I saw yesterday for the final 3 quarters is not what I expected out of him. Youth in secondary, fine, but there were so few plays where I saw a defensive back in position that it was concerning.

Any coach can have a game where the wheels come off and nothing goes right. It just happens sometimes. So there may not be cause for worry with respect to Pruitt.
When it becomes an annual tradition, then there is cause for worry.

Our d gave up 24 points.

That's with Bama essentially going full clock run out for the final 15. It's less about the points scored and more about an offense that essentially did whatever it wanted after the first quarter (and several 3rd downs in the first as well). I agree, I'm not making a snap judgement based on one game, but it was definitely concerning.

The pregame bullshite was embarassing and classless, right along with our performance.
