His performance as an OC in the SEC and his performance as HC of Colorado State is apples & oranges.

Are you saying being a good coordinator doesn't mean you'll be a good head coach?

One of the complaints from his prior stops is that he gets away from the run too quickly.

We are a unique circumstance at Georgia.
If we don't run, we are asking a backup LT from a DII school to fend off the opponent's best pass rushers with their ears pinned back. That with a freshman QB is a scary place to be. Even if the run doesn't work... it keeps the defense honest when Eason is back there and makes his job a little easier.

Reckon the Colorado State fans are blaming it on the previous HC? That McElwain fellow must have left the cupboards bare.

What I'm saying should be easily extrapolated from my comments: regardless of what Mike Bobo does at CSU, it doesn't negate the fact that he is a very good offensive coordinator.

Also I accidentally up voted you.

Stop putting wide receivers in motion back towards the ball on running plays might help

True or not... that's what all the chuckleheads were saying we should do after the first few games when teams were stacking the box.

Now its not working and it is Fat Chaney's fault.

I know it's splittin' hairs, but isn't Rhode Island D1-AA?

I've just noticed a couple of times our receiver basically led the db right into position to make a play. Probably doesn't matter, we seem to flail at something new every week. I guess for Florida we'll cycle back around to putrid pass defense and Del Rio will throw for 400 yards.

We should've fired his arse in 2007 after only scoring 12 points against that shitty SC team and keeping us out of the SECCG.

However, I have very few complaints about Chaney, either. I like a lot of what he has brought to Georgia. We do seem to run the ball up the middle and awful lot, but he also has done some pretty nice things offensively that we have not see at UGA.

We averaged 6 feet per carry against Vandy.......nearly 80% of that was the same yard and a half dive into the arse of the center. Against Vanderbilt. 6 feet per carry. Less thane the distance between the bottoms of their feet to the tops of their heads of almost everyone on the team. 6 feet 80% of the time leaves you at 3rd and 6.....and subsequently 4th and 4.....it is a numbers game at that point.....and the troubling thing us that that play cannot be designed to gain much more than 6 feet at a time....we are executing it to near perfection.....it is a third or 4th and less than to go play....not a first and 10 or second and 8...... Is is just amazing that we run it over and over again and can't understand why we punt.......

Y'all remember toss sweeps? If only we had some film of those to show the current staff....it is hard to run a toss sweep between the guards...but we did try it twice against USCe.....it's just too radical to run beyond tha tackles.....next thing you know a woman and Donald Trump will be our choice for president...imagine very idea...running outside.....why I never....

Obviously we missed Murray and still do, but just want to point out that the 2014 offense was our highest scoring ever and led the SEC by damn near a touchdown a game.

Bobo was one of the best OCs in the country by the end of his tenure, and he was grossly underrated in his ability to get the most out of the QB.

Stafford was our QB. What kind of offense were you expecting?

Rewatching the Vandy game, they had linebackers and DB's lined up close and moving forward at nearly every snap. Chaney and company have to figure out how to overcome that, or Florida will shut us down.

Little short dumps over the middle to the TE's would do it. Dragging receivers across the middle would slow all of that down.

Yes. I've seen the posts about that. I am wondering if Smart talked to him and told him that we are primarily a run team, and don't give up on the run. Maybe he is trying to prove a point by running the ball up the middle.
I don't know.

HOWEVER, Eason threw the ball 40 times against Vanderbilt, so it's not like we are not throwing the ball at all. It takes time for teams to start backing off the LOS. Florida will be tough for us because they are incredibly strong against the pass. Their defense matches up very well against us. If we can't run the ball on them we will be in a lot of trouble. They will stack the box and go man to man on our WR's. Their thinking will be that their secondary can shut down our passing game with man to man, and they can stack the box.

I'm just referencing why some fans question why keep running it when the run obviously isn't working. It is to protect a freshman qb who doesn't see the entire field yet.

Regarding stacking the box... Vandy ran base 4-3 some with the linebackers way off the line of scrimmage some. And they were still stuffing us at the line.
In that game against those DTs, ILBs, and Safety, we weren't earning anything on the ground. I have to give their defense credit because they took our manhood.
